this makes sense, since it sounds like people with engraving are getting a headstart on the shipped notifications, but doesn't necessarily mean early delivery since it comes from further away.
 
I find it funny how I check this thread, start seeing people getting the "Preparing for Shipment" status, and go to check my own.

Suggestion: if you post about shipping status PLEASE indicate if you had yours engraved!

From what I can see, there's no estimate for pick up. It should simply state your pick up date (and status should change from "Processing Items" to "Ready to Pickup" on the pick up date).

Got my order in about three hours after the orders opened up yesterday for a 16GB Black Wi Fi and 30 mins ago it went from Processing Items to Preparing for Shipment. ( no engraving)

it will get there hehe....I was checking religously all day today but when I finally gave up and ate dinner came on here and saw others were getting that messaged I checked it and boom it was there
 
2x 64GB VZW/Black, no engraving, ordered at 1:19PM (pacific) -- still processing and due 3/16.

I would say all website orders are being shipped from China. Any built up already are probably being used for retail stock.
 
no way would I chose in-store pickup. I might breeze thru with a bag of popcorn and pick up a nice case. It should be fun to watch once they sell out. :D

Ordered my 64GB black wifi on wednesday at 12:45pm PST and still says processing :(
I ordered AppleCare+ with it and that has already gone through and charged my card

I've had an invisible shield on the screen and back of my iPad 2 since just about the day I bought it. That, the smart cover, and a zippered Sena case for travel have kept it pristine.

same boat as you man central time but keeping fingers crossed for an early delivery i never get lucky tho so doubtful but also never got a preorder day one either

JUST MOVED TO PREPARING TO SHIP!!!! 7:30PM
