I hear from a good source that your New iPad is being used to play "Words With Friends" by a dock hand in China and he won't pack it till he beats his buddies.. all 12 of them.

Apple officially stopped taking in-store pickup orders today, so when are they going to let those who pre-ordered know what time we can pick up our iPad next Friday? This is really bugging me that apple hasn't given us a time yet like they did last year.
Might be earlier than expected on the smart cover, I ordered one with my iPad and it's scheduled to be delivered today. Granted I live in Phoenix, AZ and the Smart Cover was shipped from Sacramento, CA, so there isn't much distance to cover, maybe 800ish miles. My iPad however is still on Preparing For Shipment.
yeah, got my smart cover today. Only reason I mentioned was the delivery date kept shifting back as the cover itself kept getting closer. My iPad (white, 32g, wifi) is still Preparing for Shipment, as well. In fact, it should be nice and prepared by now.

My Verizon 32 GB is still processing as well... ordered with an hour of going live.
Damn, I ordered 25 hours before you and am still "preparing for shipment". Not that I'm worried..........or am i!?
I wonder how Apple manages the shipments. Seems like it's all over the place. I would have assume they just read off a list from first preorder to last but that's clearly not the case.

Yay! My white 16Gb WiFi has shipped with FedEx. I'm glad it's with FedEx -- they have a better tracking system. Apple's info states a 16th delivery date. No delivery estimate fom FedEx because they haven't posted any tracking info yet.
It seems odd that they're shipping so far in advance of the delivery date. I guess it's the logistics of moving such a large volume of packages for delivery on a specific date. Who knows? Not me.

Mines has shipped for the 16th (by 3pm per FedEx tracker). It is currently in PA. I live in NC
if some of you that already show their item being shipped in the U.S, are within an hour or two drive of the shipping facility, and have nothing going on this weekend..maybe contact the facility, tell them you're flying out of the country monday and want to pick it up. if they let you, then you get your ipad earlier and it'd be a cool story for this forum! just do it! i dare you! lol

Just checked again, says its in Nashville, TN, and estimated delivery says March 12th, but lower down it also says future delivery requested, so not sure if that means they've been told to hold it until the 16th.

The pre-order has slipped to the 19th now, and in-store pickup is still an option but for some reason you can't select it (at least i can't).
Not exactly seamless, but at least it works.....I guess.
note: I already ordered, but wanted to see.
Of course, the evident demand and slipped dates makes it more desirable.

Yup, ordered within an hour of pre-orders going up.
I think it just depends on what area you live in.
