not sure if it'll really gonna happen or not but I just got off the phone with UPS to see if I could pick mine up at the local hub and they told me that if it clears customs with no problems then it will be delievered to me on the 12th instead of the 16th

It just means that FedEx probably hasn't picked up the package yet. The shipping label was generated by Apple, but has yet to be scanned into FedEx's system.

Mine is showing the same way since this morning as well, btw.

Thats why i never pre-signed for deliveries when I lived in an apartment.

generally the office should sign for it and keep it until you get home but i would check with them.

They would leave it wherever they leave it normally. If it's at the leasing office then it'll be there. If it's at your door then it'll be there.

Got an email at 5:30am this morning saying that my order had been shipped via FedEx. Clicking on track this package has no information for my tracking number yet.

I hear from a co-worker that anything she's ever ordered from apple that ships FedEx has had this problem where she can't track it for most of the delivery, but it shows up on the date that they told her.

Unless you really know your FedEx driver well, I wouldn't do it... BUT if there is a way to leave a note with the front desk to give to the FedEx driver to leave at the leasing office (provided the relationship you have with the front desk is good), then maybe that is an option.

Again, you will have to take that chance.

No way would I leave my iPad delivery at my front door in an apartment complex under any circumstances. I'd have FedEx hold it and pick it up from their facility as a last resort. Once FedEx says its delivered, its delivered as far as they are concerned... and someone else is enjoying a free gift.

If you have a FedEx Kinkos near you, you can enter your tracking number on FedEx's website to track and allow them to hold at Fedex location. As long as you do it now, it will still be delivered on the same day that it's supposed to. Then you can go in at your convenience to pick it up there.

No, I tried to print an invoice but the website says that they don't bill you until it either ships or arrives.

Mine has been like that since midnight last night ... tracking number comes up starting with a 5 but when I try tracking with FedEx it just says it's not valid.

The only thing I can imagine is that they sent out each iPad in it's own shipment, but why would they do that?

I just ordered mine this morning. Of course it's still in Processing, but when I called Apple to see whether I ordered in time to get it on the 16th, I was told mine was being shipped from California (I'm in Oregon). She did caveat that by saying it could be coming from China to California to me. I'm hoping it is ships from California, so I might get it before the 16th. I'm WAY too impatient!

They are probably drop-shipping their current supply, meaning they have them all packaged separately already.

yeah guys... chill. there's like 7 days until they are scheduled to deliver so there's no need for them to have all of them shipped out today!!
