My tracking info finally showed up on Fed Ex after getting the shipping email about 2:46 am CST yesterday. I ordered a 16gb Black Wi Fi model. Shipping from Tennessee. Don't know what delivery exception means but I'm guessing they have to hold it till the 16th. Says will deliver by 430 pm on 16th. Service says standard overnight so if its moving overnight shipping it will be at my local Fed Ex by Tuesday I think. I'm in Kansas City, MO.

Mine just did too.....It could tho I mean if ups/FedEx let some slip which seems to always happen or maybe they'll just deliver early to not be overwhelmed on the 16th....keep some faith
I called FedEx last year to have them hold my iPad 2, but they said that they had to make one delivery attempt before they'd hold it at the depot. I work very near my FedEx hub, so I went to the depot the morning that it was supposed to go out, and they wouldn't let me have it: it was on the truck, but it hadn't left the facility. They said that Apple required one delivery attempt. Very frustrating. I hustled home and received the iPad around 10 am
Yes, they are under an agreement with Apple to not release it. You can certainly try, but they'll likely refuse because FedEx will face repercussions if they don't honor their agreement, and the employee at the counter won't want to get in trouble with their manager.
I'm still suck on preparing for shipment. I ordered a black 16GB AT&T model in the same hour that pre-orders went live. I live in Southern California and my status changed last night from processing to preparing for shipment at 10PM Pacific time. The order page still shows delivers March 16th, so I'm not that worried.
White 32gb AT&T changed to Preparing for Shipment a few hours ago.
Black 32gb AT&T is still Processing.

Mine says shipped but the FedEx tracking # is not found on the FedEx site yet. Maybe it'll be updated by Monday.
I'm in the same boat as some of you guys. I ordered the black 16gb Verizon like an hour after the site came back up. It still says processing and my last ATM receipt showed that the money had been taken out but my online statement doesn't show it lol. Oh well. As long as I get it by the 16th then no worries!
I wouldn't sweat it, Im in So-Cal and also pre-ordered in the 1st hour (32GB Verizon) still showing preparing to ship but since we are in California we are probably one of the last orders to ship since they can leave China as late as Wednesday night and still have iPad's at our door step on the 16th.
Went through this with iPad 1 and it didn't ship from China until Thurs and I had it in my hands on Saturday morning.

Mine was shipped out today via FedEx using overnight delivery but it still says that it'll arrive when Apple intended.

I'm in Nor Cal and 1 of my 2 orders shipped today. Looks like some of these are not coming from China as mine shows it was picked up from Ontario, California and is now in route via Std Overnight. Of course a delivery hold is on it until the 16th

Ontario is about 30 minutes from where I'm at. I wonder if mine is just gonna be held there. Mine hasn't been shipped yet, so I have no idea.
