I ordered my 16gb wifi iPad yesterday at 3:00 PM.
So, here's a question, since I haven't ordered from Apple in a while: Will these things be delivered in brown cardboard boxes, or are they just going to slap the shipping label on top of the product box itself?
I.e., if I pre-sign, will it be sitting on my porch being very obviously an iPad, or will it be less conspicuous?
Anyone who had an iPad 2 delivered (yes, I know they didn't do pre-orders, but I'm sure there were people ordered after they were released) who remember how it arrived who could chime in would be helpful too.
32 GB Black Verizon - Just changed to preparing for shipment.
16 GB Black WiFi - Shipped, but dead tracking info.
32Gb was ordered at least an hour earlier than the 16gb, both done on the 7th.
Clearly they are working in pallet batches of iPads, not by time of order. Dead tracking is also no surprise due to how they get their shipments through customs (pallet = one shipment, not 500 individual shipments.) Tracking will go live once they hit the US and get scanned into a FedEx sort facility.
Not sure why some people get live tracking numbers, and some get dead... but so long as we get ipads I suppose it doesn't matter

Don't think so, goes straight to shipped. Probably means they have printed your label and assigned the tracking info, just haven't slapped it on a box and re-palleted it yet.
That would work if you hadn't accepted March 16th as the terms of delivery in the contract you entered with Apple.
