I'm in the same boat as you but I'm in Washington and I got the update at about 8pm.

Has anyone from the Westcoast area have there ipad ship yet?

i got the confirmation email from apple 10 mins after I placed my order, still says preparing to ship... order a 64gb verizon
I wonder for those that if it will be at your local fed-ex/UPS early if you can just go pick it up after hours before the 16th.. would they not release the package to you if you showed up... :confused:

The first rule of Pre-Order Status threads is not to question Pre-Order Status threads :)

I ordered mine on the 7th - 2 x 64GB WiFi+4G (AT&T) - and it is still "processing." I'm in Oklahoma for what it's worth.
 
Okay, did anyone pay for two day shipping? And if so, why!? :p

It looks like free shipping was the way to go if you got in early.

My AT&T white 64g went from processing to prepare for shipping this afternoon. I ordered around 8:30 PM EST on the 7th.

That's what I was thinking about mine also. I have only seen 1 or 2 people from the West that have had there's shipped.

Ordered mine at 11:30pm the 7th, still says processing. Went with the 16gig black verizon one and live in the midwest.
 
Shipping Equation

It is now a proved that there is a direct equation for determining the speed of an iPad's progress through the Order - Processing - Prepare - & Ship steps.....

Multiply the times you click on the apple store refresh by the number of posts read in this thread and divide it by the number of units you ordered -- and then add the number of left-turns that your carrier will have to make to get to your house and this equals the number of hours your unit will take to go from ordered to shipped.

Order mine around 3 PM 3/7 (64GB AT&T, blk) and it's still processing. But will be delivered on the 16th, so no sweat!
 
I ordered Wednesday afternoon once the website had calmed down and stopped crashing. Got an e-mail this afternoon that mine had shipped from Ontario, CA and it would be here on the 16th. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. A WEEK from Ontario? Really? Are they hitchhiking? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait like everyone else. :eek:
