Once in a while, you read about mistakes at gas stations where gas is 38 cents instead of 3.80 or something like that. Lots of people take advantage of what is actually a crime in most states.
Just because others did it does not make it right.

3/8 4PM - Ordered 2 @ iPhone Apple.app for in-store pickup - Cancelled
I know its limit 2 but wasn't sure if that applied to in-store pickup also. Apparently it does and they canceled my pickup but thats fine because I'm more worried about getting mine than the ones I purchased for the parents. I'll stop in to Apple Store on launch day but if its busy then they can wait.

Got my shipping confirmation about an hour ago. Shipping via Fedex from Middletown, PA, like a lot of others. I live near Pittsburgh, and it's daunting knowing it's in the same state!
I would have preferred UPS, because they always arrive much earlier in the day, whereas Fedex usually arrives much later. It'd be nice to get lucky like I did with my iPhone 4, and receive it a day early.

Yes, I'd say that's normal. It might take a day or two for the actual charge to show up, especially since today is Sunday.

Just got my 'your item has shipped' email. Fedex, from "Ontario, CA". Not sure if this is is California or Canada, as there is no zip or postal code listed.
Finally "shipped" today. It was clearly already states side as the fedex number worked right away and it's already in PA on it's way to brooklyn.

Wow, my FedEx tracking info is finally available! My 64GB Verizon black model has been picked up in Nashville, TN with delivery on March 16 by 3 pm.

My 64GB ATT in black (2 units) went from Processing to Preparing for Shipment within last hour. Shipping to Minnesota. Ordered March 7th around 330pm CST.

my preorder 32gb verizon black ipad3 wifi + LTE still hasnt shipped yet I ordered it right away when we could, should I be ordered. Talked to credit card company and they already approved the funds as normal so there was no delay there.
WOO! Mine finally shipped. I don't know when because I've been at work all day and I just got home. It was picked up at the FedEx facility in Ontario, CA. It sucks because Ontario is only 30 minutes away, even less if you take the freeway. Too bad I still have to wait until Friday. So close, yet so far away!
Same thing happened to me today. I am guessing Apple makes sure you have enough funds (in the case of a debit card) or enough credit on your credit card to cover the iPad then will actually charge you when the item leaves Fedex' warehouse.
I ordered mine on the 7th with delivery on the 16th. Card was charged for the full amount on the 7th. Upon checking my account today the charge disappeared and the money reappeared.
"My" (ordered for someone else) 2nd iPad (16GB ATT) has now shipped. Ordered this one around 6pm EST on the 7th. My 64GB ATT shipped yesterday. Ordered that one around 4pm EST on the 7th. It's the final countdown...
i ordered 2 ipads, for the longest time my wires showed preparing for shipping and mine was just showing processing, then a day later mine shows as shipped and has a fedex number, my wires still shows preparing for shipping, both show estimated delivery of the 16th.
