Update: Just within the last 30 minutes, my 64GB ATT in Black already went to "Shipped" status within an hour and a half of going to "Preparing for Shipment." Tracking Information does not work yet. Ordered 3/7 at 330pm cst.

Ordered my new iPad (64GB, Black, WiFi only) on March 7th and got notification today it has shipped with an expected delivery date of March 16th. :)

Am I the only one who's iPad is shipping via ups?

Woo mine shipped :) Ordered on 3/8 around noon. Already in-state, awaiting "future delivery"...

Mine shipped and it's coming through the station I work at. I may be able to get it early if it arrives to my station early.

My white 64GB Verizon is still processing. I ordered very shortly after the store reopened for the second time on the 7th, I received my email confirmation at 3:50 PM EST.

Finally, it changed to "Preparing for Shipment".

FedEx says my iPad has been picked up in Nashville, TN.

BTW, was anyone else's shipping email really screwed up? Mine was full of random numbers and letters and it repeated the same thing over and over in varying states of scrambliness.

Yay!! Mine finally went to preparing for shipment! Ordered white 16gb wifi on march 9th at around 4:30 am and it just now changed!

Just got the email 10mins ago saying that my iPad has shipped and it's in Ontario, Ca which is about and hour and a half away from me. Think I could just go pick it up? But I have a feeling that it will leave the state the. Come back like my MacBook pro did which makes no sense to me.

I just got off the phone with someone from Apple to ask about the long prep for shipping and such and to make sure that the delivery date of March 16 was definite.

In some cases, because of how the system is running with Apple and the delivery carriers some of us may not see our tracking information fill in until the day of the delivery. The customer rep said there is some concern about iPads being stolen off of FedEX and UPS truck on delivery day so depending on the area you might be in they may not "push" that data out "publicly" until the 16th (I don't know how that is supposed to make folks feel better knowing you're in a "high risk" area and your iPad might get jacked).

He also said that if in your original order it stated that the delivery would be on March 16th then it will be on March 16th here in the states. He said the iPhone 4S launch was more of a stress on the system than this is and that the powers that be are working real hard to make sure this goes off like clockwork.

I'm feeling a bit better now. I'd feel a lot better with a tracking number just to make sure though. I'm like a bad luck magnet and if something can go wrong it usually does.

I ordered a 64GB White Verizon iPad on 03/08 at 8:38pm coming to Raleigh, NC.

My 64GB White Wifi iPad just hit Ontario. Not too far from my house. Any way I could pick it up before release?

Doubt it, they all say future delivery requested so that means apple doesn't want them to deliver til the 16th.

Kinda concerns me tho that they will be sitting at a ups or FedEx hub all week. Mine hasn't shipped yet so maybe it won't sit too long somewhere. I'd have to hunt the person down if they stole my iPad! Lol

Ordered 32GB black wi-fi model on the 7th and received this just now.
In Colorado Springs.

Yay, finally preparing for shipment! Ordered Friday at 2:30AM. Got charged the full amount on my credit card as well. Assume I'll be getting the tracking number tomorrow.

Mine (32GB white wifi ordered right after keynote) has been picked up in Nashville, Tennessee bound for Dallas, Texas via FedEx. I'm surprised they are shipping from within the U.S. Usually when I pre-order items from Apple they come drop shipped from China.

Finally! Just now got my two FedEx tracking numbers for two 64GB AT&T models ordered at 4:00pm EST on the 7th. Tracking numbers not yet active.

Yay! Now my constant browser refreshing moves from Apple.com to FedEx.com!

Damn! I'm in Dallas and I can't seem to make it out of "processing"!

Finally, my order progressed to "Shipped" state. Picked up at Nashville - TN. Its a 16Gb wifi no-engrave. It says, ship by March 16 3 00 PM.

you can all kiss my arse for responding so harshly. if you read through the threads one person posted that he got free smart cover, and there is a string of others who said they then attempted the same with no luck. so why no criticism against them!? if a multibillion dollar company can give one frustrated preorder customer something for free, why should i not attempt to do the same, esp since i took a few hours off from work to preorder and i'm sure they didn't? there is no harm in trying, and for the record, i didn't harrass..i got a sweet old lady and tried to get them through kindness, while the other guy who succeeded in getting one was probably acting like an ass. so to you wishing bad against what i did and with harsh comments, GFYS!

I'm not gonna go calling you names or anything, and I did see that someone got 2 free smart covers...
BUT that person got only them because he ordered a new AT&T iPad and 2 smart covers in the first place and his order was messed up. He ordered an AT&T ipad, and apple put it in the system as a Verizon one by mistake and already shipped it. This person actually had a valid issue with apple, so they refunded the cost of the smart covers and he is getting them for free. Luckily he had already decided that he was gonna switch to the Verizon ipad, but before he could tell apple, they offered the smart covers for free, so he is lucky. Had he not wanted the Verizon one already, he would have had to return that one and wait an extra week for the AT&T ipad since those were already backordered.
