It'll eventually come, won't have the latest X Lake CPU or won't have 128GB DDR7 RAM then ya'll start bitching in a new thread 'Who's waiting for the 2025 Mac Mini for hardware that doesn't exist yet'

If it's not user upgradeable and have a quad core option then the thread can not be closed. Just my opinion.

Of coarse one they go Arm it will be a moot point;)

That’s what I think. ARM and everything soldered, and 2/3 the height of the current model.

Tim just responded to one of us on here that a new Mini will be along shortly. Then we can close this thread!
Why close the thread?

Despite the claims of wannabe pundits to the contrary over the ten of the twelve years since it first came to be, new Mac Minis will almost certainly continue to come, albeit less frequently than some would desire. This thread will almost certainly continue to fulfil a role.

So thrilled about today's news!

Dare I say we're almost certainly approaching the point, where we are only months away from receiving an actual rumor that "Apple is working on something really great that's not going to be released for another year or two"!

Also, this.

Tim's comments in that email were:

• Apple loves Mac mini
• Apple plans to have Mac mini be an important part of their product line going forward.

Basically those two comments do not bode well for the mini because:

• Apple already loves the mini right where it is
• Apple already deems the mini as an important part of their product line right now.

The new Mac mini will remain the turd it's intended to be. For all intents & purposes, the Mac mini is dead. It may remain available to buy. But .... yuck

Exactly... if "love" and "important" means letting it get 4 generations behind in CPUs, let alone all the other trailing specs, while still charging full price... o_O

Tim's email sounds to me like when you're breaking up with someone and (s)he is crying and you go "but you will always be important to me, how about we stay friends". As said above, nowhere does he say it will be updated. "Important part of our lineup" might mean "because it makes the coolest paperweight ever".

Having said that, imagine it dropping in price to €199/249 for base model as is now. What are those Windows desktops you speak of?

Tim Cook says more or less that a new mac mini is coming, people still complain.
I am willing to bet that if 1 week from now an 8core mac mini arrives for $200, people will complain it is not out on all the colors they want.
Why can't you guys be patient?
I remember having my first ST for 5 years before upgrading to a MEGA STE and we are talking about minimal upgrade at a time when there were huge advancements in computing. Or when I had my C2Q PC for almost 8 years.

Cynics and wannabe pundits have been predicting the demise of the Mac Mini for over a decade now.....
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/where-are-the-mini-replacement-rumors.314711/
..... and will probably still be predicting the same a decade hence.

A new Mac mini is coming. Or Tim Cook says so. More or less. Right.

It's not that we, Mac users, cannot be patient. Call me a pessimist, but at this point I simply cannot see any good reason why I should be patient, what for, exactly?

i'll never buy another mini until they sort out their hdmi problems

i keep getting blank screens on tvs i have them connected to and have to force restart the stupid thing

I guess people expect Apple, the tech company with the highest revenue and 9th in all companies overall, to be able to update their internals as new ones become available, rather than just letting it get 4 generations behind...

... you know, like every other company with a tiny fraction of the resources is able to do no problem and without being asked to do so.

The level of contempt Apple has for its customers is beyond excuse.

Okay it has started the death of the iMac. and apple going to a 2 desktop lineup. I bigger mac mini and of course the better mac pro. After at least 50 posts by me on this thread alone . Apple has reached the conclusion I have. Kill the iMac yeah! the mini will be able to drive the new 32inch dell screen as will the new mac pro.

I am glad the apple team has seen the light at last. (Not)
