Why spend time watching end credit? You can get the same information on imdb.

i like the music and design of the credits. also the "thank you's" and little extras put in there by the production team - i.e. "production babies" - on one movie they listed the names of all the babies born during the production! that was kind of interesting! also the in-memory-of are really nice too.

It's kind of interesting now that Apple no longer has control over the UI. On one hand HBO now is very nice... But I really don't like Netflix. I don't see any way to view my list, recently watched, or to browse by genre. :-(

I have no problem browsing stuff around. The UI is exactly the same as the one in the Roku so I guess I'm just used to it. On the other end, ironically, I don't like the HBO interface. I find it hard to navigate and look for stuff. Hopefully I'll just get used to it :)

They removed similar movies offered when selecting a movie or show, that was something I used often, and removed actors when you use to scroll down.

sometimes the only way to find a movie/show was to get it under "similar"... like Gurren Langen or a few animes. The anime lists of shows/movies are NOT comprehensive, and some can only be found if you know they're there and you search them.

or you use the director's name/actor's name to see what else is on netflix with them.

I understand why the lists were not comprehensive, but that caused me to miss out on content! with the recommended shows/movies at least you got a further view.

I dunno about most people but I generally like to browse - I don't like to research, and search. that just feels like work.

I hope the app is updated to be at least as functional as the ATV3 app... I'm going to really miss it.

Wow, there's a lot of enthusiasm on display about the Netflix app.

I haven't had an issue with the design. It could be better, but it's constantly evolving, so, meh. On my aTV4 the "recently watched" item order got all jumbled up, which was sort of weird.

Regarding competing services: I have Prime but am nothing but frustrated by their streaming service. Their ultimate purpose is not to provide you with content to watch which you've already paid for, but rather to drive you towards purchasing more video. The free content is consistently "seasons 1, 3, 4, and 7 are available; 2, 5, 6, and 8 you have to pay for." Infuriating. No thanks. In fact, I typically forget I even have it as an option.

Hulu Plus is at least equal to Netflix. We're cord cutters who rely on Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Now for TV entertainment. Hulu with the "no commercials" upgrade is golden, and they're really catching up (and in some ways, have surpassed) Netflix's selection of programming.

Netflix owns original content, though. Their original stuff is fantastic. Those two services together are very complimentary.

The interface (and behaviors, from what I can see) are identical to the Netflix App on the TiVo Roamio. It's also similar to the iPad app; I think they've streamlined the UI across most of their app versions (though Smart TVs probably have different/older interfaces).

The iPad app let's you watch the ending credits.

I found out the issue I had with the video. It was the HDMI cable. Turns out that I Had an HDCP problem; discovered it when I tried to play an iTunes video. After switching to an HDMI cable provided by Verizon FIOS, I had no issues.
And Netflix looks better than the video provided by my PS3. Also video scrubbing on the Apple TV is a lot sweeter.

Hi guys, so let me get this straight - is there really no way to browse categories specifically in Netflix on the new Apple TV? Say I want to call up historical documentaries specifically - I'm currently seeing no way to do that. I used to do that all the time on my older Apple TV. All I can do now is search (which is useless when im trying to find something new to watch) and random other categories that I have no interest in. Is there really no list of categories to choose from?

Correct. There are no categories.

Best you can do is use a web browser and add to your list. Even this way you'll need to press 'down' around 38 times to get to your list!

I have always added movies to my list via my laptop because ALL the other interfaces, Smart TV, Blueray Player, ATV3 or ATV4 really have always sucked... The ATV4 is now especially sucky. Thanks NETFLIX..

The best job anyone has done IMHO, is HBO GO...

Really? I think the HBO Go app is terrible. Try finding late episodes of a TV show with many episodes (such as the John Oliver show) ... it's endless thumb flicking. HBO Go on the ATV3 was much much better.

I've always browsed on my laptop. Its not hard to find my queue either. With Siri able to give actor or director answers as well as make it simple to go to whatever, it seems pretty easy to me.

I'm sure if they did what the people who claim its awful wanted, there'd just be a different set of people claiming it was awful and that they were stupid and incompetent.

And the whole thing about wanting every feature immediately is unreasonable. Yeah, they don't have the option to turn off the autoplay and show credits yet. So you watch some movies till they do. I'd guess the percentage of people who end movies when the credits roll is in the high 90s and there are also a lot of people who watch series sequentially.

Thanks, Mike...

Found it under account/playback settings...

And you can change it for each individual profile...
Right. Under Order My List they need to have a similar option to "force to top". I contacted them and they said if you added items and used a couple times a week it would move to the TOP. Makes very little sense. If "I" create a "My List" they should consider it important enough to leave on top. Hulu had the best "WatchList" until the ATV 4 came out and they do not support it on the ATV 4 (only on the ATV 2/3). They say it will come to the ATV 4 "soon".

On the same account, one profile has My List at the top, 2nd under recently watched, another profile has My List at the very bottom, umpteen rows down, which seems pretty stupid. The whole point of having a My List is so its convenient to get to the shows you watch. What's convenient about scrolling through umpteen rows?

Then again, Siri search bails out any poorly designed app that has Siri integration by just bypassing their crappy user interface if you know what you want to watch.

You can ask Siri. That's been working for me, so saying 'show me all dramas on Netflix' works and keeps it just Netflix, as does narrowing it down like 'only good ones'

I like it.

Siri works great for when I want to look up something specific, I use Upflix app to help find things every now and again, and it loads so fast as the ATV4 is lightening fast.

Looks flawless on my new 4K TV.

Yes, but it does nothing on the ATV.
I am not sure I tested this completely on ATV 4 but pretty certain on ATV 3. I also was just watching Dark Matter on Netflix and I don't remember it going to the next episode automatically but I did select the next episode myself. Would need to test to be absolutely sure.

I actually just test it with Dark Matter and at the end of E1 it just stopped and did not start E2. But E2 was there to just select and start.

It's pretty gratifying to me to see so many people complain about the location of "My List".

For several months now, on both ATV3 and ATV4, and I think on PS3 too, the location of the "My List" row has been inconsistent. I've seen it at the top, I've seen it at the bottom, and I've seen it a couple of rows down from the top. I've even seen it appear a few times with no artwork (all grey boxes). Not an Internet problem because all the artwork appeared in the other rows, and not a "My List" data problem because I could actually select a grey box and the appropriately positioned item from my list would play.

I watched a movie with the girlfriend the other night and when the credit roll shrunk I told her about how upset some people were. Then I clicked on it and it expanded back!

If this is on the ATV then it is a new feature, as it didn't do this previously. There is however still no excuse for not providing a proper option for this. Once the flow of the film has been interrupted, it's been interrupted.

Why bother watching the movie? You can just get the plot synopsis on IMDB.
Why bother even showing credits then. I hate it when people say go to IMDB. I like to watch a movie uninterrupted. When you watch a great ending nothing ruins the movie then it going to postage stamp size credits and suggesting there stupid turd of a original movie Ridiculous 6.
