It looks like Apple is using the "old model" trick to make consumers by iPods/iPhones.
What I mean is, most, if not all, of my friends own a MC-Model 8GB because it was so cheap. The new iPhone line up is also based on the "old model" way. 3GS for cheaper price and the new models for a more expensive price. Same as when the 3GS was released.
This is how the 2010-2011 iPod line up will look like.
iPod Touch 4th Generation
16GB 3rd Generation Model - $199
32GB 4th Generation Model - $249
64GB 4th Generation Model - $349
Features: Camera, Retina Display, iPad design, FM radio, Gyroscope, Microphone, iOS 4.1.
iPod Nano 6th Generation
