Guys don't get too excited. Steve is a smart business man. Half of the cool features you want won't see this release of the iPod Touch. Sorry to break it to you.
I don't think Apple will come out with a $249 32GB iPod Touch 4G, if anything, which I know Apple will probably will, they will probably stick to the same $299 price but with a lot of new features, this is one of Apples marketing strategies. We might see a slight $20-30 price drop.

Yep. Ill be happy no matter what cause ive never had a touch before, honestly the camera isnt huge to me, for some reason, i mean its a nice addition but its an MP3/Gaming Device, not a camera. I would prefer a price drop to a camera, but its

I've had a few touches, and one iPad. If the iPod Touch had a retina, back 5MP camera, and FaceTime cam, I would trade it for an iPad any day. The iPad doesn't live up to the hype.
I honestly dont see the point of an iPad, its supposedly a tablet but its not, just a big ipod touch for alot more.
I havent seen any lately, some very strong rumors should be coming around mid to late august, maybe even early.
apple strategy is keeping base model the same as 3g while only updating 32g and 64gb to 4g
Oh please, Best Buy doesn't know anything. Stop getting anxiety, the iPod refresh will happen, theres no way Apple will let the iPod Touch go without being refreshed this September, Apple will not stick with the same design and features 3 years in a row.
I'm debating whether to get the Iphone 4 next week when it lands here in Norway, but the only thing that's on the Iphone and not the Touch is the camera. Yes, really. I don't want the phone, I have an E71 that's already a far better phone than the iPhone, I just want the media player and the apps.
BUT I am not getting one without a camera, and I'm willing to pay extra to get it.
Short version: Will the Touch 4 get the same camera as the Iphone 4?

If you don't want the phone, then why the #### are you getting an iPhone?
Heck, my sister has the E71 and she says the camera is awesome, superior to the iPhone.

Ok, first off, you guys are stupid as all hell. Apple will not change the price line up. Everyone thought there would be wacky pricing for iPhone 4, but there isn't, it's just the same line up as before. That's what's going to happen. 199-8gb third gen(yes third, not second), 299-32gb fourth gen, 399-64gb fourth gen (same features as 32gb).
Next - camera
there have been strong rumors about facetime, so there will be a front camera. Now a back camera is possible, I highly doubt there will be a 5mp back camera, they would have to square off and enlarge the device. (but the question is-will they stay with the same design for another year?)
Gyroscope
This is marketed as a gaming device, it WILL have it.

A4 chip
same speed processor of iPhone 4
retina display
iffy on this. It would be expensive, but it's possible.
Flash
(can someone ask ifixit for the flash module size)
I am assuming the module is small, so I think it is possible, but I highly doubt it because it just doesn't seem right for an iPod.
