It's my brothers birthday today too so i was woken at 6:30am!
He's hoping the new iPod Touch will be a good use of his birthday money to upgrade from the 3rd gen.
oh and it's exactly 2 hours and 30 minutes... now!

I just read an article that claimed the new stuff won't be available to purchase for several days to a couple weeks like the Iphone was! If that were true I will CRY!!!

I thought it would be available today. That's what I thought happened last year.
I feel that same feeling, I think this Apple Event is going to be the best event yet.

It is interesting that only Mac users (unless you are a touch/iphone user who has windows
) get the live update from Apple. I would have thought that they would let everyone in since they give a good number of free things (like safari and itunes) to both operating systems.

Unfortunately, there will always be someone how is disappointed. I'm sure someone out there really wants a 128GB option (for some unfathomable reason), who will be disappointed at the lack there of. The likelihood of a 5mp camera is fairly low, so some will disapprove of that. There are many who want 3G capability, which is even less likely to happen. Just know that this isn't going to be the last ipod touch (more likely than not), and even if you don't get everything this year, they won't remove features so next year something must be added. Besides, for a PMP that requires no contracts, it can do a good deal of things.
Also, look at the Iphone 3G into 3GS. No big changes happened that year. Then iphone 4 came with a load of extra features. The ipod touch 2G to 3G was very unremarkable by most standards. At the very least there will be a couple of good hardware updates to look at in about an hour.
Wrong. There are a LOT of people who want a 128GB option. The iPod Classic has been at 120GB or 160GB for many years now. It's expected. I have a 160GB iPod and use every last byte. I wish it was bigger.

Really? What do you honestly put in it? I don't know anyone with more than 12GB of music and give maybe 2GB to apps. Another 4GB to random items and pictures. Are you storing an entire movie library on it? I only saved a few good youtube videos and I never filled a 16 GB.
Personally though, I doubt 128GB due to the large cost of that space. 64GB is cheaper than 128GB to make. Most (not all obviously) are happy with 64GB, so that may be what factored into what they chose.
They closed the site for about 30 mins. to an hour. If you look now, they added the link that will take you to the site where you can watch the Event live (but only if you have a mac running the newest software or an ipad or an ipod/iphone).

really... I can guarantee you there are ppl you know who have more than 12 gb of music. I have about 80 gb of music, 5 gb of podcast, a few gb of pictures, and a lot of video
It's everything I have ever dreamed about minus the fact that it can't take still photos but it's ok. There will probably be an app for that if I jailbreak!
