lol I think in that case Apple HQ might experience a mild influx of terrorist type of activities such as beheadings performed with spoons.

Also quick question, what do you need to have as a proof that you are a student when you order from Apple.com BTO using a student discount? Do they simply send it to your house anyway or what?

well it's 3pm in Sydney, TUESDAY, that is, and I'm still waiting for something, anything on the new release for MBP's....I had my new MBP all spec'd out 6 weeks ago and then found this damn site - it has become a daily obsession.....I sympathise with so many of you waiting, cause all I want is to dump my old HP Pavillion and get a new upgraded MBP....
I'm sure that people from Apple read these forums....so, this is for them:
"Dear Apple People, PLEASE listen to your customers because we're not going to wait around too much longer - I'll go buy another PC rather than buy a MBP this week and then have it out of date when you FINALLY do the new release!"

Bring on the new MBPs NOW!

And BTW, if the new ones do come out today, when do they hit the Apple store in Sydney?
 
I forget how exactly it goes, but I believe they wouldn't come out until about 10AM PST, which means about 4AM on Wednesday in Sydney, and you probably won't see them in stock for about a week.

Also, does anyone know whether or not this theoretical new MacBook Pro will have a Blu-Ray drive? I need to, um, "view" a variety of high-definition movies some time soon.
 
Apple Order site down for maintenance

I ordered a MBP Saturday and hearing the rumors of a MB or MBP update Tuesday. While checking on my order, the check order status page has been down for maintenance most of the evening, is this the norm?

Heres hoping for MBP update in a few hours.

I hope they'll be the first to use the 9600M GT, if not then..

atleast make 256mb vram on base model and 512mb on 17" as an option!
 
I'll be up and checking the store in the morning.

I'm not sure what the update will be, but I can't wait to see what Apple gives us. But, here's to hoping for the new MBP tomorrow!
 
Here's to hoping for a better video card and something "extra". Something unexpected. Please Apple. :) :D

ha ha, i am or was the most impatient person I've ever met ...seriously .... But this forum has really taught me the value in waiting....

I cannot justify in ANY way spending $5000AUD on the kickass MBP that I want so much, (now now now the voice says) and then having it out of date in a matter of days or weeks....

So, I'm waiting, reading the threads, waiting and hoping that the updates we all want so much come out soon soon soon!:)
 
At the rate things are going we might see a new MBP by the time Jesus returns.
I'm still hoping for one tomorrow though!
 
jesus I have been good this life time. Can I get a MBP w/ a jesus chipset when I go to heaven. If yr going to send me to hell at least throw me a power book.
 
lol, I remember staying up all night when the SR mbps were released...will this be another all nighter?

Those Jesus chipsets cost an awful lot I hear (something like an eternity of servitude).

lol, I was on summer break at the time and had nothing better to do...i was so hyped in the end haha. Wasn't even in the market for a laptop anyways.

I'll be going to bed soon...
