Love and monsters...
Love or hate it? You know, the one with the cement brick of a girlfriend at the end...
Didn't care for it.

A couple of half-decent one-liners, but apart from that I've very little positive to say about it I'm afraid.Love or hate it? You know, the one with the cement brick of a girlfriend at the end...
Ok, now that the new season just started, time to bump the thread...
What did everyone think?
New companion? I thought she did well. Good head on her shoulders. No complaints here...
The new episode in general? Some parts were really good! Others... made me just shake my head. I swear... RTD will come up with any excuse just to get the Doctor to snog...
I'm pretty excited to see this episode. I hope it begins broadcast in the US soon, elsewise I will have to turn to different methods to see it!
Take it from a Canadian in a similar situation - the torrents are your friends...
Of course at least here we have the CBC, but I still am not waiting 6 months to see the new season. You guys in the the States though, you're pretty much SOL aren't ya?![]()

Well, we have been getting it on SciFi Channel. The first season ("American" for "Series") was about year behind the UK, and the second season about a month behind Canada, if I'm not mistaken. I hope the American release date gets moved up a little this year, but I simply can't wait that long! I'll end up reading all the plot synopsis' and spoilers, and I'll ruin it for myself!![]()
Where did that come up?Yep, I thought this was a solid first episode as well. And was it ever revealed beore that the Doctor had a brother? Just curious....
Where did that come up?
No, I don't think it has been, although apparently when the character of the Master was first conceived it was intended that he was the Doctor's nasty sibling but this has never been mentioned on air. Of course, with rumours that the goateed one will be returning in this series some people on teh interwebs are getting a little over excited about this comment.Yep, I thought this was a solid first episode as well. It was when he was in the hospital posing as a patient and he was denying that it was him she'd seen earlier that morning Martha asked if he had a brother and the Doctor replied something to the effect of 'Not anymore.'When Martha was asking him if he was alone, why he didn't travel with anyone, his family, etc. It was a quick comment he made when she asked about siblings - watch it again, you'll see.![]()

Has to be the Christmas episode. There was always something Sheriff of Nottingham about that particular Time Lord, so panto season would be perfect timing for his returnYeah, I could see that. Still not sure how I feel about that...
Martha seems to be a good addition, and they did explain away her previous incarnation in the last series. Bit of a ropey explaination, but it'll do.
Better than no explanation at all, like when the Doctor, played by Colin Baker, just happened to look exactly like one of the security guards (or something) on Gallifrey, played by Colin Baker, during one of Peter Davison's stories.... Maybe THAT was his brother.![]()
