Edit, yes she was in it sorry xD she was 8:46 8:49 minutes in.

But...

She was in the show, albeit for a second only. When the Doctor appeared on the Tardis viewscreen to speak with Donna, Rose appeared in the static for a split second beforehand – just long enough to mouth 'Doctor!' Donna didn't notice, mind. Or if she did, she wasn't bothered.

Are you my mummy? Fantastic. :D

Oh but she was in the show. When the Doctor uses the sonic screwdriver to holograph chat with the Sontarans and Donna is in the kidnapped TARDIS a screen on the console is activated. Just before the display flicks to what the Doctor is saying we see this...(sorry, can't do this in white text)

Just a second and a half in total, but she's definitely saying "Doctor!!"

That was great, really enjoyed that

Can't believe BP name was in the end credits
for a 1 second appearance,

next week's episode looks nuts !

Next time looks great, and yeah Are you my mummy gave me some chuckles xD Luke at the end was sad :( The atmosphere lighting on fire, I found a bit stupid. The valiant would heat up, the empire state building would light on fire, planes would fall from the sky. But still insanely good episode.

Actually, my favorite cameo in this episode was the Doctor saying, "Are you my mummy?" when he had the gas mask on. Priceless!!!

(26:35 - 26:37)

Hehe, that episode was just a lot of fun, really enjoyed it. Good end to the two-parter! And I am quite intrigued with the preview for next week!

I liked that one as well, brilliant. There seems to be a lot mare references to the past in this series, roses re-appearance, the doctor says that he has already been to pompeii, the references to the Brigadier and that "are you my mummy" bit and the doctors daughter next episode

next week's episode looks nuts !

It was good but my expectations were, once again, too high.

I was hoping this would somehow relate to the original Doctor Who, where he travelled around with his Granddaughter... but no. At least he mentioned it though ("I've been a father before").

Wasn't a too shabby episode.

I like it when the companion goes off on their own adventure :p Just like in the old Doctor Who.

what I want to know is; how did Martha understand what the Hath were saying, and vice versa? Ah well, it was a fairly good episode. At least it wasn't Earth :)

Urgh at the ending, such a spin-off seed. No actress change either?

I thought that episode was alright. I liked the 7 day twist at the end.

So the running theme is the destruction and creation of planets, seem to be seeing clones too. First Martha and both of them armies.

Fantastic music too. But Catherine Tate still annoys the hell out of me.

Check the name of the actress playing the Doctor's daughter... any connection to Steven Moffat?
No, Georgia Moffett is the daughter of Peter Moffett, who's stage name is Peter Davison (The Doctor #5), and Sandra Dickinson (Trillian from the original Hitchhikers Guide series). So she comes with quite the BBC Sci-Fi pedigree :)

As with last year it looks like there will be a week break On 24th May
for The eurovision song contest :(

hopefully that might mean that the rest of the run will be on at a consistent time-slot (7pm?)
and maybe we'll get a second-half-of-the-series mini trailer after this Saturday's episode like we did last year.

Haven't been in this thread for a while, mostly because I've been behind on my Who watching and didn't want to read any spoilers! ;)

Anyway, I've quite enjoyed the last few episodes - they have been fun and not frustrating for me, which is a good thing. ;) The Sontaran 2-parter was great and I quite enjoyed last week's episode with the Doctor's Daughter. There have definitely been themes of cloning and creation/destruction in the series so far, so I wonder how that will play into the culmination of the season. In general, the finale always seems to revisit material from earlier in the season: Season 1, "Dalek" midway through the season, then their return in the finale; Season 2, the Cybermen, and then their return in the finale; Season 3, the Doctor becoming human and hiding through a device which then resurfaces with the Master's return in the finale; Season 4 - ??? I guess we'll see - perhaps it's the Doctor's Daughter. ;)

As for the episode itself, the only issue I had with The Doctor's Daughter was the whole 7-day war thing. This premise only works if every solider is killed every day, and almost simultaneously, at that. Otherwise, even if one of the original solders had lived more than a day, he would quickly correct any "new" soldiers that the war hasn't lasted a generation, it's lasted a day. Same goes for any soldier in fact, you would think word would spread, or that if a group of them was held up in a location for a couple days the myth would be exposed. No matter....

I also liked the end when the Doctor's daughter "regenerates". Was it a true regeneration? Nope, because her physical appearance didn't change. Also, the energy that escaped from her mouth was not the energy of the Time Vortex we have seen from the Doctor and the Master previously, rather the energy from the terraforming sphere. Which means, was this a true regeneration, or a one-time thing, akin to Spock being reborn on the Genesis planet, and Jenny will not be able to regenerate again, or is she in fact more "Time Lord" than that? If she were though, wouldn't the Doctor be able to detect her presence, as he has been able to with other Time Lords including the Master once he resurfaced?

Regardless, definitely sets things up nicely for a return in the future. The only question is, will it be long term (i.e. a year or two down the road) or short term (i.e. later this season)? We still do not know what transpires in the last 2-3 episodes of the season and whether Jenny will have a part to play in that. I believe the title of one of the last episodes hasn't even been publicly released yet, as it would reveal too much about the episode!

A paradox brought the Doctor to that location because of his daughter who hadn't even been "born" yet, which is why he had to go there. ;) So, along those lines, could another paradox occur whereby Jenny, created from the last Time Lord, is responsible for the rebirth of the Time Lord race from the Time War? Could she go back in time and fix things (albeit she presumably does not have time travel capability in her space craft) or even more extreme, become the mother of all Time Lords, hence a new paradox of the Doctor (the last of the Time Lords) being ultimately responsible for the creation of his own race?

I doubt the above will be the case, but it's always fun to speculate. :D Then of course we also have to see how Rose figures into things...

Haven't watched this week's episode yet but will probably do so today. :)

Last night's episode - I wasn't really taken with it, to be honest. Not a stinker but not one I'll be rushing back to watch again either.

Now, the 'next time' trailer looked very interesting – it seems to be quite a dark and scary episode. Which is good. Just a pity that Eurovision is in the way and we'll have to wait a fortnight...

I can't even remember that. Teh wife was shouting at the dogs at the time, I think.

I'm not enjoying this series at all. Every time whatserface opens her gob I cringe.

Having no prior exposure to Ms. Tate myself, I can't say I appreciate the hatred some people have for her - not yet at least. I can kind of see what people mean when they say she's annoying, as I could see that in her at times, but I honestly haven't found her too bad (yet) in the series - and definitely not enough to ruin things for me. ;)

To be fair, unlike some previous companions we can mention she's not spent the series (so far, at least) gazing doe-eyed at the Doctor dreaming of having little Time Lord babies with him, so this is a plus point in her favour in my book.

I think that's one of the reasons I don't mind her - she's a more "mature" companion in that respect, not the teenage or early twenties companion such as Rose or Martha who exhibits the aforementioned behavior.
