I ould knock either to be honest, both know where the net is.

I am a fan of Kuyt/Kuijt though, I really hope liverpool go in for him again because he is just hte player we need and he will do well in the premiership too.

Liverpool will be an excellent team for Kuijt. His energy and very hard-working mentality (has no big mouth either), should be usefull for any team, but somehow he fits in Liverpool. I feel that Feyenoord and Liverpool have many similarities, which would suite Kuijt.

Yep, he is exactly the type of player our manager loves. Works hard for the team and scores shed loads of goals....

I'm not a bookie, its a straight bet...

I bet england win, if htey do i win the $100 from you and if they draw or lose then you win.

I think England will have a tough time drawing, and a tougher time winning. However that doesn't mean I'm mug enough to take even money. On the other hand you are so confident of England that you rate them evens to draw. Which is my whole point.

EDIT: assuming that there is a point.

its all about backing your word. If you think England are a poor side that will struggle to even draw, then put your money where you mouth is and i'll do the same.

This is how 1 on 1 betting is done over football - if you want bookies odds then go to a bookies....

England will batter T+T by at least 2/3 goals

I think England are an excellent side but I hope they come second in their group so they can face Germany :D that would be an early test of character. But it also puts them under pressure of needing to win the group. However my experience of watching England is that they have a hard time stringing two really good games in a row together and they seem to squander their talent. Perhaps this is why Rooney is so important. I cheered them on in the Victory pub in Regent's Park against Argentina but they fizzled out with Brazil.

They are a good side, bad manager has a lot to do with the issues you said.

I would like england to face germany because england are a much better side. However, I think england will put trinidad and tobago to bed easily which means they win the group.

They should beat TnT as easily as they should have beaten Northern Ireland. Luck seems to play such a big part in the World Cup and it often does not go England's way. I would have expected England to steamroller Paraguay after that first lucky goal (albeit from a classic Beckham kick). A tiny bit of luck to Paraguay and it could so easily have been a draw. But I guess that's what make English football in general so much fun. Anything can happen. If England don't have a very convincing win here then I'm sure Sven will want to rush Rooney back as soon as possible.

Probably so. No team can look past their next opponent in anticipation, but I am hoping very much to see an England vs. Brazil semi on July 4, particularly the much talked about middle field battle which would ensue, that is, provided Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney raise their play over the next four games.

I second that! And then England vs Germany in the final...

the mexico-iran game is turningout to be a nice one

But what gives with these abc commentators going on about Iran's nuclear reactor, the PM's comments on the Holocaust, 'freedom' in Iran etc.? These are players, not politicians. I don't have high expectations for US networks anyway, but this seems lower than Fox to me.

yoji

I would watch it on the spanish channels but it isnt on HD.

3.5 hours until the illustrious Socceroos hit the field against Japan - bring on the draw!!

It's a "must-not-lose" game for us.

It's also a must not lose game for Japan, which should make it interesting. Will they take risks for a win when a loss would be disasterous? Also goal difference is bound to come into the equation in this group. I think taking a goal off Brazil even if they lose will be important.

Three "must watch" games this evening, it's going to be another long night.

It is and if we win I will be over the moon :D

However I'm just glad that Australia in the World Cup, and if we score 1 goal I will be proud. Australia has never scored a goal in the World Cup :)

Also while out it, Portugal won their match, unfortunately I had study and needed the sleep. Can any one comment on the performance, mum said it was poor :(

How could that fracking Egyptian referee give a goal to such a blatent foul on Swartzer, it was an arm up plus rolling into Swartzer diagonally. It was almost as pathetic as the continuous diving displays from Japan.

Nah! That was poor keeping! Man of his size should be able to come through and get everything including the ball! That was weak & the goal stands!

The man it your advar (Figo) was quality, set-up the goal and showed the show-boating (yet pointless) Ronaldo how a man plays the game.

Overall Portugal looked quite good, it was like the England game really: good early doors and then faded in the heat. Angola weren't very good tactically come the end.
