Nah! That was poor keeping! Man of his size should be able to come through and get everything including the ball! That was weak & the goal stands!
He shouldn't be body blocked from moving laterally though. I think it's a controversial call.

Australia just ties it at 1-1...now, 2-1 Yaaaaaay!

First rule of Keeping: If you come for the ball take everything and be strong. He wouldn't get away with it in the Premership and he knows it.

You won 3-1 anyway in rather a good game, what was Gus up to fighting with the Japanese coaching staff?

Should have been a penalty! Well done to the boys from down under tho, wish it wasn't Cahill who scored because personally i think he's a prat :) (gunners fans should know how i feel)

1-0 down with 6 minutes to go then 3 goals in 8 minutes. Yay. Where's all the high fiving from the Japanese goalie now eh, eh?.

That third goal could be the difference as I think Australia will be level on points for second place.

I've never seen Guus so animated.

Sven... take notice of Gus and his substitutions....

I don't get what you said. Why would he take note? England and Australia were in two different situations. Hiddink needed to chase the game so brought on attackers for defenders/midfielders.

For England we were already winning, and Sven felt we were losing out in midfield. So he brought on Hargreaves/Downing.

You can't really compare them.

AAUUSSTTRRAALLIIAA!!!!!!!

That was an absolutely amazing game :D. That's what a game of football game should be about.

Brazil here we come !

EDIT: Kennedy needs the praise that's due to him.

There was some pre-game squabble where he claimed Japan's staff had bad mouthed the Aussies as a dirty team and had influenced the refs.

What an awesome result!!

Fantastic!! I was happy when we came back and drew after that dumbarse ref gave the goal to Japan with an obvious obstruction of Schwartzer but to make it a 3-1 win is just brilliant.

Our first ever win in the World Cup finals and our 1st, 2nd and 3rd goals ever in the finals too - we didn't score any last time.

I thought it was quite a good game, Australia are like a mid table premiership team, well organised and a couple of good players, else just hard working with a few flashes. Japan were more skilful but their size and physical fitness let them down towards the end. My fiancée thought harry Kewell was cute so we wont be watching any more of Australia this year!:D

Sven is notoriously poor at substitutions, I've watched every england game that he has managed, his subs are always poor.

Taking owen off for downing could well have lost england, it put the team under a lot of pressure.

It was certainly a more exciting game than England-Paraguay

I thought all but the last 8 minutes was quite poor. Two poor teams that wont get to far in the tourny.

Portugal was another fairly boring game, the dutch didnt set the world alight either and as mentioned england opener wasnt great - well second half at least.

USA 0 CZE 1. The Czechs are controlling this one fairly easily so far.

And Reyna hits the left pole, missing an equalizer by inches. UGH.
