This link http://www.thefa.com/ takes you to the England official page. So then I click on the link that says Video: Penalty Shootout. That link takes me to another page specially titled England Penalty Shootout, so I click the link that says England Penalty Shootout. That then loads up a fracking video browser with 21 separate videos, none of which are the penalty shootout. But wait, there 14 fracking pages, that nearly 300 videos to trawl through. But there is a search button that doesn't work.
You need to get some sleep, dogbone. :p You'll need it in about 10 hours.

I know it's getting to to be a real worry. Up till 7am watching ecuador beat the poles, (yay), Then there's three games on tonight that are a *must* watch, so it will be another 7am finish. Looks like I'll have to go nocturnal for the next month. It's raining today and I need to get my chainsaw chain back from the sharpening shop or it's no firewood for the Aussie game, and it's bloody cold here.

Anyone Stateside?

Does anyone know if there is a pay per view or some way of catching the ESPN games aside from going to a sports bar? It seems like most households in the US are wired to a couple hundred channels - but mine is not. The gloom around here because we can't watch the World Cup, aside from weekend games on ABC, is getting to be too much. Aside from sports, we generally don't watch TV at all, so buying into a $50 pm cable package is a waste of money. I haven't missed this much World Cup since 1990:( .

To make matters worse, I switched on the news tonight to see if I could catch some highlights plus commentary of the Germany/ Costa Rica game and their coverage was interviewing people on the street to see if they had heard of the World Cup (none had... one girl guessed: "it's something like the Superbowl?!) and filming inside the local sports bar with a grand attendee total of... 1. (tempting, but can't take the kids there)... sigh.

Well, at least Germany won.:D ...

i would actually recommend watching it on Univision, much better commentary, even if you don't speak Spanish, and there's less of the graphics on screen too, ESPN had their ticker running at the base of the screen and the scores all the way across the top, very distracting.

oh, i believe the England game today is on ABC, which you may well get. :)

3 mins actually.

Heh heh. Didn't someone say to me last night that they didn't care about the football? :D

Watching the stream from the BBC with a cold Stella before I get stuck into some work.

Three observations:

1) Don't think I've ever see an England back four with this much confidence on the ball.

2) Peter Crouch. Twinkle-toes.

3) It's hot. Damned hot.

Hehe, I only switched over when I heard loads of cheering from the neighbours!

Hope you're referring to the weather not the England team :p

I have another observation:

4) The referee's hair. *How* much grease?

I realise that's a very girly thing to say. Instead of commenting on the football, I comment on the referee's hair.

England have been the better of the two, without question

I think a lot of the players short passing is just dreadful, Cole, Cole, Lampard, Neville, John Terry mainly... Very poor for some reason.

Owen has just come off with downing of all people coming on

if germany vs costa rica was "meh" yesterday then i don't know how to call this game... the 2. half was even worse the the first from poland vs. ecuador

You need to remember Costa rica are a poor poor team, Paraguay have beaten world class teams in the last little while

The main weakness within the england team is the swede.

Thanks for the tip about Univision. I'm in diverse Iowa, so nothing like that here. Probably would be better, the ABC commentators are just a little irritating

Hmmm... I hope the refereeing doesn't get too one sided like the last world cup (the Korea/ Spain game!). Not sure what those yellow cards were about today.. or why Crouch was the target.

They were both dull games IMO.

Weren't the fans singing "God Save the Drøttning" toward the end? :)

Yea that referee is referred to as "Chiquidracula" in Mexico. In english i guess "dracula". About the yellow cards, that referee is quite strict to all the fifa regulations, Crouch got the yellow card when he argued/complained. Not a good thing to do with "Chiquidracula." In one game in the mexican league, he gave out like 10 yellow cards and like 5 red cards. It was not just Crouch, its just if you cause trouble or argue, you get the card from him. :D

Lampard was man of the match in my opinion, for actually taking his opportunities at the net trying to do job that are piss poor excuse for strikers weren't doing.

As for Sven...

Owen was dreadful, crouch did his job well but got terrible service.

Lampard created nothing for the front two... but then again, nobody did really.

Remind me... how many did he score again? infact how many did he look like scoring?

Come on.. he looked as likely to score as anyone on the England team :/ He had ***** service..

Well done T+T. :D
