I can see Spain getting another yet. They're still piling on the pressure with five minutes to go.

EDIT : Penalty. 3 - 1

Typically these kind of penalties are given when it hardly matters anymore.

IMHO it was a foul, but these kind of fouls are being committed so often, that hardly any ref awards a penalty.

Looks like you were right – albeit from the spot.

That's the thing about being a League 2 fan. You learn to expect the late goals :)

That's it. 3 - 1 result (although for a second there I thought it would be 4)

Well played.

Same with being a Hull fan. Thing is, they're usually scored against us. And often by our own players.

Still, I'm pleased with the result if only because that's what I predicted in mine and Miss Jaffa Cake's pre-match discussion. :)

Just watched the BBC after match analysis. Seems like my main man Cesc changed the game. Awesome. :D He needs his place in the starting line up. :)

other than xavi, xabi, senna, baraja, albelda and iniesta being ahead of him... then yeah

He played pretty well though, weith a couple of shots that the keeper parried and a couple of half decent passes.

Spain are definitely through – Ukraine can still be caught though, if my rather patchy maths hasn't let me down.

That is quite true - Tunisia could upset them with a win in their final match. My money is on Ukraine, but hey, what do I know... ;) :D

What do you guys think about tomorrow's England/Sweden game?

England's playing Rooney (yay!), but they've already qualified with 2 straight wins, more pressure on Sweden to win this thing.

Judging from the Trinidad/Tobago v Sweden and v England... I think it'll be an England sweep.

Germany will squeeze on by Ecuador too.

What are you thinking about the US/Ghana game?? If the US wins, and Italy/Croatia wins, they go on...

I haven't been watching Ghana, how are they looking?

We're getting superb coverage down here. Because it's on from 11pm through till about 7am we get every game live and un-interrupted as well as good pre and post-match discussion. They also do bits about the stadiums and histories of each city. Very impressed.

The Winter Olympics however, day-old one hour highlights packages only anyone??

nowt wrong with the coverage here either really. its pretty much just that the commentators are a bit *****...

I listen to radio 5 live when watching the game, as always with the bbc commentators.

That's normally what we do too, especially if Mick bloody McCarthy is on the commentary team.

My prediction for the England-Sweden game? A hard fought 1-1 draw. As for the Germany-Ecuador game, I'm going to say the hosts will get a 2-1 win.

I never predict before the match. Whenever I do that with County we end up losing, so cursing Engerland with the same fate is a bad strategy.

Stomach full of goosebumps whenever I think about it. Anyone else finding it difficult to concentrate today?

Yes, I never would have guessed that German cities have museums, and shopping malls, until they told me.

Doing fine at the moment but I fully expect pre-match nerves to kick in a little later this afternoon.

Why, they're already through. Although Argentina do look more threatening than Germany.

My goosebumps are because Rooney's back, and I want England to play to their full, something they've spectacularly failed to do in the previous games.
