Joe Cole does that whining ***** pretty good too...

Such funny stuff.....
England didn't look like scoring, and suddenly one of those "spared" gets a goal :)

Whoops... bit premature there. From the sound of the radio commentary, Robinson sounds like he's completely out of his depth at this level.

Robinson should've come out and taken the ball away, IMO. But in his defense two of his defenders whiffed it too. Though he has had two goals saved by his defenders in the WC so far. "Completely out of his depth" is a bit harsh, but he's definitely got room to improve.

Could someone who actually watched the game explain to me what David Beckham was doing in the second half?

Getting shutdown by Sweden. And doing not so hot placing balls on free kicks.

Yep, that was an ugly play on his part on that throw-in, but it was really a total breakdown by England's defense. At least four defenders in addition to Robinson in the wrong places at the wrong time. Campbell couldn't reach the ball, Ashley Cole didn't stay at the post.

My allegiances will be extremely divided on Sunday morning. Hope Ecuador can show better than they did today, and I think they will...

In fairness to him for the second goal, the ball also made its way past about four England players in the box who just looked at it (including it seemed, bizarrely, Ashley Cole twice). Our defending from set pieces is looking a bit suspect, that's for sure.

Once again though, I got the score wrong but predicted the result right. After all, we've not beaten Sweden since the Battle of Stamford Bridge. :p

Thats a (slightly undeserved) equaliser by Sweden. I guess we see how much fighting spirit the men from england have

With the superb start that England made they really should not have been fighting to not lose the match. Why wasn't the goal deserved? It was defended badly. At least they won't be playing Germany, or maybe they will.

It was undeserved because they were getting battered. The second goal is worse than a pub team.

OK so you think England should beat Germany and since Germany thrashed Ecuador, (surprisingly to me) I presume that you would expect England to easily despatch Ecuador by a similar margin, that is, if England deserve their ranking.

The Manchester United striker, who missed the first game against Paraguay and came on as a substitute against Trinidad and Tobago, was visibly angry at being taken off. —bbc

Spud will appreciate that analysis by Sven.

England are the most annoying bunch of gits I have come across. They are so talented individually (except Lampard and the **** of a goalie), and as a team they are consistently mediocre when it comes to putting teams away. They should ahve a rocket up their ***ses. And what is with keeping Crouch on and leaving him up front on his own? Ridiculous management and half professional team performance. No doubt England will get to the semi finals, and then hopefully get shown up for the bluffers they seem to be this time around. Can u tell I am not that impressed any more :D

I don't know what was running through his mind when he slammed off his shoes after being pulled at 70 min., but I really, really like a talented player who shows heart. He's made a new fan, afaic.

Ecuador got their "nalgas" kicked, today and I can only hope they'll regroup, do their proper homework now that know whom they'll face on Sunday, and get back up for the match as I'd truly just want to see a well played game from both sides. Vamos a ver.

Equally exciting are two games tomorrow (today) with Portugal vs. Mexico and Holland vs. Argentina.
