How is putting a 0 there Americanizing it? Get over it.

I usually hate ads on tv but the Budwieser ones on Brit tv at the moment are spot on.I like the way that even English commentators sometimes use offence and assist and such like, they should be strung up.Bastardising the language is bad enough but football language. Please stop and stick to rounders.

Well, I think you should follow through by not using that infernal "z" in "Americanizing". It looks so, uncivilised.

GO GHANA!!!!

I put it in there consciously, I think it is an american word, so I chipped in.

Anyay, us English and you Aussies don't agree on my but slating the yanks is one thing we are great at :D

I'd like to see an African team in the next round. Nothing against the USA, but they are currently in the way of that happening.
It's a great day and result for Ghana and it is good to see an African side advance. I thought the US played their best game of the three, but it wasn't enough.

The foul called in the box was crap, IMO, but the US definitely underachieved this time around. There were spurts of passionate, tight play but they were pretty much drowned out by inconsistency and failure to capitalize on goal scoring opportunities.

I dig underdogs so I can't help but get a warm fuzzy thinking about Ghana's WC situation, and how proud that nation is of their team's performance. Now go knockout Brazil. :D

Even though you Aussies didn't cheer for my team I'll be cheering for yours. Good luck Socceroos

Cheers mate. No hard feelings but I really wanted an African team in the final 16. It's good for the game.

As is the Socceroos getting through....

C'mon Aussies. :D

Unlucky USA.. wasn't really a penalty. Oh well - I wanted an African team in the last 16 to be honest..

There's always the next cup. ;) One of these years the USA is gonna slip up and win the cup. :D

I've got to find another team to pull for now.

They've earned the reputation as "the Brazil of Africa". They may well get their chance to show their colors, come June 27 when 2E vs. 1F.

Ditto

Ghana deserved their victory, and I won't take anything away from it. I will definitely be cheering for them against Brazil...

America and World Cup don't mix, no big surprise.

On a side note can they hire some actual officials that understand how the game is played. I've watched a few games and its been a joke how bad the calls have been.

Good luck, Aussies, against Croatia. But watch out. They've beaten Argentina once and Sweden, twice this year.

None at all. There's alway South Africa in four years, right?!

Absolutely crap call. The official in the Netherlands/Argentina game was letting contact like that go all game long. Even without the penalty shot, I would have seen the match ending 1-1 with Ghana advancing anyway; they were clearly the superior side all match long.

Let the real tournament begin!

i wanted to like the ghanaians, then they started "getting injured" every minute for the last 15 minutes of the game. nice sportsmanship there, team

the USA just made too many mistakes, and the refs certainly didn't help things (there were awful cards that went both ways, and then there was the non-PK PK).

oh well, US team didn't deserve to move on, but still would've liked to see decent reffing and some sportsmanship going into the next round.

As for the usa 'under achieving' I think its more of a case that the team was over hyped and took too much notice of its FIFA rankings ( which is flawed anyway ).

Well done Ghana, you deserve the next round more than the usa does.
