I'd say the Royals are more likely to win the AL Central than the US winning 6-0Counterfit said:The only game I'll be able to watch is Italy vs. USA (at least of the ones I really care about.) I'm predicting the score to be 6-0 USA. followed immediately by the Kansas City Royals going on a 79-34 tear to win the AL Central![]()

paultomkins said:Yeah, it's not like he's scored 5 international goals, created loads more and helped England to good results every time he's either played or come on as sub.
Even before the last two games, England's scoring rate rocketed every time Crouch played compared with when he didn't (going back to May 2005), and that includes opposition like Argentina. He missed the defeats by Northern Ireland and Denmark, and when he wasn't playing for England last season the average for the team was a goal every 100+ minutes. When he did play, the average was a goal every 25 minutes.
Two more games, and the goals are still flowing - admittedly against poor opposition today, but the awful penalty aside, Crouch had three efforts and scored three goals - two of which were finishes no keeper would have saved. But in his 110-or-so minutes this week England have scored seven goals, and he's bagged four of them.
England win lots of games with Crouch in the side. Liverpool win lots of games with Crouch in the side. And yet still people look to what he cannot do, rather than accept the evidence of what happens when he's on the pitch. As an individual he won't win any awards, but he's a player who makes things happen.

You can only beat the players you have infront of you, he has performed really well week in week out in the premiership (and FA Cup and european cup).
He holds the ball up better than anyone in the premiership. Of course, for out and out brilliance rooney and many others are better... but for effectiveness then he is as good as anyone, and he has proved that time and again.
EDIT - just found this peice AFTER what i replied... he knows his stuff too

evoluzione said:check out the LFCNY website and then click the link. it's in PDF format so you can print it as big as ya want!
I made it in Illustrator, which i've been trying for a decade not to learn, so i'm kinda pleased with the results, although haven't figured out how to make it automatically tally up all the scores if you enter them in on the computer, but then, it is called a wallchart, not a spreadsheet
enjoy!
evoluzione said:but his main task is to score goals, and nothing else.
Thanks for the pdf chart, evoluzione. Um....is anyone else pulling for Ecuador over Poland next Friday?evoluzione said:haha, indeed i do![]()
Yep, Jamaica played poorly yesterday – but Crouch took his chances well. Hopefully though he won't have to take too many penalties for England at the finals...iGav said:Against true world class opposition...![]()

And I still think it's ludicrous that, if who's on the standby list is anything to go by, Andy Johnson is rated as the fifth/sixth best striker in the country.iGav said:But I still think it's ludicrous to believe he's one of the top 3-4 strikers in the country.
