Berba is a fantastic player, his in a class of his own.

But i don't want him at United, his strops would unsettle the team.

He wouldn't last long with Fergie.

I couldn't agree more:
Portsmouth: Sol Should Keep Quiet

On another note, where you do you chaps get your footy news?

I have a tab on my google homepage devoted to footy:
Beeb <-kind of enjoy their gossip column
Beeb Liverpool
Guardian Unlimited
Skysports
Goal.com <- has some very good columns
Yahoo Sports
Fox Soccer
SI.com Soccer
Soccernet.com

Are there any other outlets worth reading? Especially for analysis (not just news.)

I stand by my opinion but I'd like to be proven wrong.
Chris Coleman, with the right club, could do a lot of good things I reckon.

tefleming: I mainly stick with the BBC and sky sports news.

Chatting with a mate on he brought up:

wikipedia entry, on the news that kevin keegan would be returning as magpies manager:
"on january 16, 2008, kevin keegan was foolishly appointed as manager for a second time at newcastle united fc"
wikipedia now says that he's bringing in shearer as an assistant manager
3 different entries in less than 3 minutes
me: maybe then shearer will find time to get his badges
Keegan returned to Newcastle United in the relegation season (2007-2008). His innovative formation of 0-0-10 ensured a an entertaining 5 minutes whenever Newcastle United kicked off, but a record number of goals conceded. Newcastle also went through a record number of players played in goal through the season, as Keegan insisted that at least one of them "must be able to keep a clean sheet, and what does a defence do to contribute towards scoring goals anyhow?"

get ready for loads of geordie retards stopped by news crews and saying “wor kev’s back, its grrreat mann, howay da tooonn”

and even more retarded pundits/commentators saying “50 years without a trophy, is he the man to bring silverware to those deserving fans” – and take note that its the media who keep stating that the newcastle fans deserve silverware for being a “big” club.

I myself am going for a trip in my tardis to get in the mood for this circus show because at the minute I am gutted but need to collect some euphoria from years back to enjoy this.

Newcastle have gone for Kevin Keegan, this could either be a master-stroke or an embarrassment for Kevin. I really hope it works out for him, but I am not holding my breath!

phew, just got back, forgot how often Oasis were on the radio, Kev’s back and we are all having a huge party, KEEEEGGAAANN, KEEEEGGAAAANN, etc.

Berbatov...If I was a Spurs fan I would actually want him gone - he's a fantastic player but he clearly doesn't want to be there anymore.

I don't want him gone....unless they spend the proceeds on better defense, which is their real weakness right now. Since they've already apparently told Defoe he won't be back, that would seem to make it more likely they'll keep Berbatov through at least the rest of 2008. I can't imagine they'd send both Berbatov and Defoe away at the same time, unless Ramos has a secret plan.

I think the issue is that Berbatov wants to leave...though I'm just speculating. That's the word among the pundits anyway. If he goes, he'll go to one of the top four and it will be for big money, though maybe not 30 million.

Too much Americana for me - just reminds me of "Beckham. Great Hustle. GOOOOOALLL!!!" ;) Try www.newsnow.co.uk then pull down football->Liverpool (or whatever club you want) and you'll be there. Great accumulator site.

Too much americana? (you could have starred SI.com and soccernet - both American, though Soccernet tries to be British).

I've got the Beeb, Guardian, and Sky in there to balance things out. Plus goal.com seems to cover a variety.

But, in seriousness, thanks. I'll give newsnow a shot.

I like to listen to Wold Soccer Daily. It's a good podcast that covers mostly the Premier League. Broadcast from California by a motley crew of UK expats. They are also on Sirius.
