That is such as shame as I really rate Eduardo and want to watch him play. He is (and hopefully still is) a star for the future.

Firstly I'd like to say I wish Eduardo a full and speedy recovery.

Although Sky are not showing the tackle, I've got the advantage of Sky+. I've watched it 4-5 times, not for any other reason than to try and work out why the ref sent Tiny off. It was not a bad tackle and looks from the change of direction of the ball that Taylor got the ball first or Eduardo flicked the ball to the right just as Taylor's foot got to where the ball was, even though there was no Arsenal play to his right. There was no way Taylor went for Eduardo and no way was it a sending off.

And McFadden sticks a free kick in the top corner!!! 1-0 to the Blues

How does the leg look Scott? Is it broken, or at least does it look like it? Sounds horrendous.

From the camera angle that they had on when it happened you couldn't see anything.

EDIT - However, he's been taken to Selly Oak so guessing it's a pretty bad break.

Just watched it again. From the camera angle and the fact Muamba is blocking the view, it looks to me that Taylor got the ball and he's follow through caught Eduardo's ankle and it looks like his ankle snapped.

If you want to see some pictures that are floating around, you can clearly see the foot raised, studs up, which makes contact with Eduardo's lower shin, around the ankle around. His foot is at a horrible angle, and it is a bad break.

This is a very graphic photo, so don't click to look at it if you don't want to, but it shows. To me, thats two footed, studs raised - red.

Looks like its been a good talk from Arsene at half term, and well done Feeeeeeoooooo. Should be more than 2-1 up though.

Commiserations to Eduardo, and the Arsenal team after that challenge... but I must ask- why are Sky not showing this tackle when they were perfectly happy to show Pedro Mendes being punched unconscious by Ben Thatcher in recent times?

Good luck to the Gunners, anyhow.

They also showed John Terry being kicked in the head, and knocked unconscious. This is pretty grim though. I dunno.

Jesus, we've ****ed it up. ****.

I'm slightly less over the moon.

Some **** has broken one of our best strikers legs, we have not taken the chances that fell to us to finish the game, and I believe thats pretty crucial in the title race. Can't see it happening anymore. ****.

I'm not going to get in to an argument after such a horrible injury. Taylor went for the ball, the picture show the end of the tackle. Watch the whole sequence and you see Taylor makes a one-footed tackle.

As it looks like we are out of the title race :D I would like to see Arsenal win it, after all Blues and Arsenal do have a good relationship and it was the trio on-loan from Arsenal that got us promoted last year.

BBC said:
1516: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger describes Martin Taylor's tackle on Eduardo as "horrendous". He continues: "If that is football, we're better to stop it."

Liverpool 0 - 1 Middlesborough

I don't see us losing this game but it is quite silly how we can totally dominate the soon to be Italian champions one day and they go behind to Middlesborough. We need to win this game to help start to build a basis to get 4th.

Edit:Liverpool 1 - 1 Middlesborough
Edit:Liverpool 2 - 1 Middlesborough

2 in 2 minutes, great

So Wenger finally saw something that happened on the pitch. All I can say is I've watched it 9-10 times now and it was not a nasty tackle. One thing I'd point out is watch the reaction of the Arsenal players, if it was as bad a Wenger seems to be saying the Arsenal players would have been trying to kill Taylor, none of them reacted in that way.

EDIT - Just read Wenger's comments on the BBC and it's a total over reaction to say Taylor should never play again. I'd go as far as to say Birmingham should appeal the red card, it was a not in my eyes even a yellow card.

That looks awful. I haven't seen the challenge itself so I'm not best placed to comment on that, but the injury looks quite grim to say the least. Hopefully he'll make a good recovery but well... it's an horrendous injury.

Ok.

Not sure if I should really post this as it's again pretty grim, but do you still think it's not even a yellow card looking at this? What about anyone else? Take a look at that top left.

You know, for me the worst thing about that sequence of pictures isn't the tackle itself, or Eduardo's twisted leg... it's the expression on his face in the last picture as he looks down at his ankle. The poor guy looks absolutely terrified. I really feel for him there.
