There is nothing worse than Premiership Refs in the lower leagues, although we had Martin Aktinson on Monday night and he had an ok game.

Problem is, they forget it's League 1 or whatever and blow up for things that are nothing in the context of the league.

Meanwhile, in the Champions League, apparently Arsenal we're so good they might as well have won the Champions League , but United we're fairly quiet. Won without really threatening, but kept Lyon quiet.

On the Joe Garner knee front, it's looking bad. (FYI, 'Fred' is Mr Fred Story, the clubs owner and firm fans favorite)

We took Joe Garner down to see the same surgeon, in Bingley, because his scan showed a ruptured cruciate ligament. Steve Bollen, our surgeon, is one of the top men in his field, and he will be operating next Monday, once the swelling has gone down. After that it will be the long and slow process of recovery.

We obviously all want the best treatment for Joe, so we looked at a few options. Fred actually said that he would foot the bill himself to send Joe over to America, to see Richard Steadman, who is very well known in this field. The surgery over there costs upwards of £30,000 and that's money the club obviously can't afford. On top of that, going out of the country isn't covered on the club insurance policy.

Fred was happy to put the money up himself, and asked me to find out the process to get Joe over there. I looked in to it, spoke to the head physio's at Blackburn and Manchester United, and took advice on the matter. On speaking to them they both said that Steve Bollen, our surgeon, is one of the best that there is for this type of operation. Manchester United use him every time - Roy Keane and Wes Brown are good examples - and many other Premier level players have had their cruciate repaired by him. Basically, they couldn't recommend him highly enough. The upshot of all of that is that we are very happy that he is in good hands. I'll actually be going down with him, on Monday, and I'll watch the operation in the theatre, to see how it goes.

Not good. We'll see, he's a young lad and should recover fully anyway.

Don't be to upset, remember you were up against a far better team, you should have known that after we beat you 3-2 at white hart lane :D

You are Roman Abramovich, and I claim my five Roubles. ;)
I'll go with Barcelona, Sevilla, Schalke, Roma, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Milan (sorry XIII) to make it into the next round.

Well, I wish I were Roman Abromovich, but unfortunately I'm not... :D
By today's morning you've guessed Barca and Man. Utd.
I've guessed only them as well.. :)

Arsenal has won the match with Milan. And it is the first time Milan have lost English club on San Siro!!! ;)

Next Week:
Liverpool - Internazionale: 3-1

And why are they playing next week???

My guess, because Inter and Milan share a stadium so the both can't play home games there at the same time.

Correct, the two Milan clubs cannot play home games in the same midweek or weekend – too save the pitch and to stop two sets of away fans in Milan.

Lampard has been lampooned due to poor form much of this season, but lately "fat Frank" has been getting things done...He and Ballack are doing it all for Chelski at the moment.

Liverpool take the lead through Torres from a cross from Kuyt.

Missed the Ballack goal but Lampard's goal was a simple tap in.

The Ballack goal was assisted by Lampard, and the Lampard goal was assisted by Ballack.

I'd love to see the people singing "Fat Frank" every week stood next to him, honestly, are they looking at the right person?

No joke...if Lampard is "fat" than more than half the world's population is morbidly obese.:rolleyes:

I'd like to see another Torres hat trick...

I'd like to see another Torres hat trick...

You may get it, just popped in a great header.

edit: Wish granted. Torres hat trick then subbed for Crouch.

I really feel we are benefiting from Skrtel at the back.

Gerrard just popped in a great goal from about 22 yards out. Brilliant.

Wahey! Torres knocks in another for the hat trick, and to top it off a powerful drive from Gerrard makes it a 4-goal rout. <shakes fist>

From what I've heard of Skrtel he has been influential - too bad we didn't have him earlier in the season.

A Hat Trick of Hat Tricks for EL NINO. A STEAL at 20MM+ pounds.

Stockport are doing the old 1 million pixels, £1 each trick to try and buy their stadium. Good luck to them, it is a shame they are having to resort to such measures, but I suppose thats football these days.

Sheff Wed 0 - 1 West Brom
77' Jermaine Johnson
..............90' 1 Kevin Phillips

Sorry, you lost me with that one?

Has it got to the stage where we post random football results now?

OK then, my turn:

Wrexham 1 - 1 Mansfield

Proctor 70 - Boulding 53

I've missed the opportunity to watch Chelski's game yesterday...
Was it great match or nothing special? :)
Ballaсk, Lampard and Kalou scored. Lampard is my favourate one in Chelsea but I've heard that he has made plenty mistakes and has missed several opportunities to score yesterday... :(
And what about Cech? Is he injured? Cudicini took his place yesterday..
I've watched last 30 minutes of Real - Roma match... This one reminded me Tuesday's Milan - Arsenal.. I supported Real yesterday. Bad luck...

Today we have UEFA Cup matches. Russian Zenit from St. Petersburg are playing with Marselle on Velodrome. I think it is going to be the most difficult match for Russian team...

In England news, Capello says it's likely that Golden Balls will get his 100th cap against France...

My guess is that Capello will get this 100th cap business out of the way and that will be the end of Beckham's England career.

Philadelphia has been given the newest MLS expansion team, in case anyone cares...:D
