Barnsley Vs West Brom for me, and West Brom to win overall, after all, they are the 2nd best team in the Championship ;)

I think it will be a West Brom - Cardiff final with West Brom winners over all.

At this point I would say that Barnsley are the worst team left in the competition but they do have tendancy (recently) to pull it off in the big games.

West Brom can take Pompey on and win and I sincerely hope they do.

Seeing as I was the only one to try and guess the goal of the month I am the default winner :p, but I also got it right  The goal

Who do I want to win the FA Cup?

well not West Brom for starters, I'm a Blues fan and wouldn't stop hearing about it for the next 20 years (Coventry only stopped talking about their FA Cup win last year)

Not Portsmouth, they survived and we were relegated a couple of seasons ago (did I say anything about dodgy money and transfers???)

Not Cardiff, they are Welsh and I feel it should be an English side that wins the FA Cup.

So that leaves Barnsley and as they beat Liverpool on the way and my best mate is a Liverpool fan then I can't really want anyone else to win it.

On another note. Fat Blatter is wanting to look at Martin Taylor's tackle on Eduardo to see if he should be banned for more than 3 games. What the F*** has it got to do with him??? and if he's going to look at Taylor's tackle then he's got to look at every other tackle this gets a player booked or sent off.

I agree - if you go through all the games played in Europe this season you will find scores of tackles that were just as bad, and the tackled player only avoided serious injury through good fortune.

By doing this Blatter confirms that there is a double standard in the game, and that dangerous tackles are only punishable if the victim is a popular player for a top team. If Eduardo broke Taylor's leg things would be different.

For a start FIFA have every right to ask for things like this

I tend to think of it differently. Blatter is reviewing this incident not because it was on an arsenal player but because his leg was broken. It is a serious injury and Blatter wants to be sure that it was handled correctly (which it was) in order to help prevent such incidents in future. It is perfectly reasonable for Blatter to become involved at this stage (i.e. a review).

I have absolutely no objections to Blatter coming in and think that it is the proper thing to do. It is part of his job.

As a Yorkshireman (and a supporter of another Championship side) I'm hoping Barnsley go all the way.

Cardiff's victory is great news for us – with one eye on the semi and really nothing to play for in the league, let's hope their minds are on other things when we face them in our next match this coming Wednesday. ;)

By the way, it's apparently been confirmed (I've seen it on Sky Sports' news ticker but can't find a link ) that should Cardiff win the FA Cup they won't be entered into the UEFA Cup. It's all down to some technicality about them not being an 'English' team and being members of the FAW as well as the FA. Or something.

I'm not sure what the actual problem is (I reckon they should be allowed to enter, albeit they be classed as an English team because they've qualified in one of our competitions and thus take one of our places) but expect this debate to rumble on, especially if the Bluebirds make it to the final itself.

I can't argue with Blatter's right to review the incident, but penalizing Taylor further would be excessive IMHO unless we start seeing similar punishments handed out every time we see a "horror challenge"...and I don't see that happening, simply because managers and owners will fight extended bans tooth and nail since it ultimately sots them a lot of money.

Flamini could easily have broken Nani's leg with his challenge a few weeks ago...if Blatter is serious about this, tackles like that, even if they result in no injury, will be getting red cards and extended bans. Fat chance, unfortunately.

Hopefully it will resolve itself and come to the reasonable solution that they would be allowed to play.

I totally agree and as I suggested the treatment of Talyor in regards to punishment has been totally fair. Can't say the same for how he has been treated by others, Carlos Queiroz - that is not a heat of the moment incident like Wenger's

Flammini challenge along with Makelele's were both reckless and a red card would have been justifable. It is just a fact of life that these incidents get lost because of the big headline grabbing broken leg. Hopefully Blatter will review similar incidents, if he wants to do a proper review then he must and If he does he will realise that any furthe punishment would be wrong and that it was a freak that the leg was broken.

Big rumours going round Arsenal sites today about Flamini leaving, going to AC Milan for more money. I don't really believe it now, but quite a lot of people seem to think it's a done deal. He will leave for free at the end of the year. I can see why we wouldn't want to pay him more - we can't just suddenly start paying him more than the rest of the team, no one would like it and it would unsettle him. As he can come on a free, AC Milan etc. can easily afford to pay him what he wants. Like I said, I don't believe it until I read something concrete, and I'm more leaning towards not believing it at all at the moment - but if he is a money grabbing bastard, then so be it..

If that's it, then Stevie needs to drop the effing veil. Anything more subtle than a sock to the head doesn't seem to cut it.

I've given up on Kuyt as a striker, he makes a semi-decent winger and I feel he should be permanently reassigned to that position. If not then he should just be permanently reassigned.

Too bad he's no good as a striker - Liverpool's current run of form is just a Torres injury away from evaporating.

Its more than just Torres though, Skrtel, Babel, Mascherano have all been playing really well recently. I think Babel has settled into the Prem/Liverpool style and is going to be immense for us, I have always rated him and now he is begining to show it, I am really excited about Babel. Skrtel is a much needed player and has looked pretty solid for us so far and has some great potential, waits for next season with Skrtel/Agger duo that. With Gerrard as a lynch pin between them all and Torres as the cherry on the cake if you will.

We need another striker, although haven't seen much of Voronin and Crouch recently which is a shame. If you signed another striker who would it be?

I think you're right, but our squad is way too thin in the striker department and with Agger hurt we have to rely heavily on Skrtel, who is fortunately quite good.

Not sure on another striker...I'll bet Drogba will be available in the summer but he's a bit old and would be expensive. We need another youngster like Torres.

I wouldn't say that was fortunate - Benitez bought him because he saw that he was good, so that seems to be working ok there.

I have been away for the weekend so have not been able to post on all the great games.

Ok, firstly, I think Martin Taylor's challenge was more mistimed than malicious , it just had an awful end result. When you compare it to the cynical foul that Carvalio committed in the Barnsley game this weekend, the Carvalio challenge was much worse. But of course, he's an established international, rather than a talentless thug, so he gets away with it.

I'm by no means a Man U fan (actually can't stand them), they definitely should have had one penalty in the Portsmouth game.

I was glad Barnsley didn't draw West Brom as Luke Steele would not have been able to continue his fine run in Barnsley's goal (he's on loan from West Brom). Here's hoping for a Portsmouth - Barnsley final with the Yorkshire side lifting the cup.

Good point for my Latics against Arsenal (first point I think they've ever taken against the 'big four' since joining the premier league), hopefully they can survive.

Man City look really bad right now.
