If Watford make it back up I'll be cheering for them a bit, because I want to see them do better than last time it will bring another American (Jay DeMerit) back to the Prem.

But I'll cheer louder for Hull, of course. ;)

That photo of Babel makes it look like he's in the middle of a huge dive.

This is all I really wanted to say on the matter...

Is that him thanking whoever the **** up there decided to give him a penalty and not Hleb? Look at his face, he can't believe it!

It looks like a sniper in the stands has shot him! :D

Jaffa, are hull still fighting to go up to the prem? I'd love to see that.
We're currently fourth, two points off the top with a game in hand on most of our promotion rivals...

...still five games to blow it. ;)

The feeling in these parts is that West Brom will probably win it, so it's second place up for grabs. Interestingly, Stoke and Bristol still to play one another so someone's going to go dropping points.

Wolves are the team everyone needs to keep an eye on. They're sneaking in there.

Well if we're doing that Jaffa.

The other night ended in Carlisle 0 - 0 Swansea. Did get a little heated and I'm quite surprised both teams ended with 22 men. I feel Carlisle we're the better side in the first half, and Swansea in the second. For all their possession though, they didn't create a great deal. Jason Robinson hit the bar twice from free kicks, one in each half, but Carlisle had the best chances with Danny Graham shooting inches wide (I thought it was in) and a thunderous volley from Simon Hackney forcing a great save out of their keeper.

All in all, good result for both sides, and the top 6 of the table looks like this:
SafariScreenSnapz001.jpg

Carlisle have Leeds (A), Southend (H), Millwall (A) and Bournemouth (H) as their last 4 games, and I think we need to win 3. Bring on Leeds!!

Also, I've just seen Roma's penalty last night and despite all the Arsenal Liverpool penalty talk, you've got nothing on this, worst penalty decision ever... ever.

Last night Barcelona didn't show the game it used to show. Barca definitely has some problem as well as Chelsea does. The real problem of this FCs as I said earlier is themselves and not their rivals...
So I'm sure that we will see Liverpool vs. Man. Utd. in Moscow final..
I wish I could get a ticket on final.. But it is toooooo expensive... :(

If the last Champions League Man. Utd. won was on Camp No (Barcelona) where they played versus Bayern Munich (that fantastic match where Man.U. scored 2 goals in last 2 minutes) then it was in 1999. Then we have 9 years past from the time Man. U. has won the trophy... :)

My CL breakdown as it stands:

Man U has to be the strongest professional team in Europe right now. Barca has no chance of progressing. I think Chelsea will be less of a challenge than Arsenal for Liverpool. Liverpool are CL specialists but I am not particularly confident about the outcome of a United-Liverpool final. Ferguson has Benitez's number in the the league...if Liverpool win it will either be 1-0 or we will draw and win on penalties. United are a little weak at the back right now with Vidic out, but even so I can't see them giving up 2 goals.

IF we face United in the final and beat them I will forgive Rafa's league performance this season, though I really want to see him challenge for the title in 2008-09.

I still have hopes Barca could pull it together for the United games. If Henry, Deco, Messi and Eto'o get it together on the night.. they certainly have goals in them. That would be awesome if they beat United.

I must admit, everyone already seems to have United in the final, and I most certainly do not.

You looking forward to Sunday XIII? A repeat of the FA Cup will do just nicely.

I agree they have the team - on paper, at least. And yeas, I hope Barca win. To quote King Kev: "I will love it if we beat them, love it..." :D

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard's doings begin to resemble the script for the sequel to "Snatch". WTF?!?!?

Maybe this shadowy "John Kinsella" is just another name for Bullet-Tooth Tony?

I think I'd rate Barca's chances of beating ManUre better than ours.

My only worry with Chelski is that the law of large numbers will eventually apply. (If we play them enough times, they will eventually win one of them.)

Not really. We might well crumble.

Which is disappointing, seeing as if we took 3 points, we're right back in the title race. But I don't see it..

I think United are clearly the stronger team right now, but I think Arsenal could win it.

At least we know that neither team will be getting overly physical, because Arseanl and United are always the victims when it comes to that type of behavior, according to Ferguson and Wenger. :D

I'll be cheering Arsenal because I want to see the title race come down to the wire.

EDIT:
Question for the other Liverpool supporters (or anyone with an opinion) - How do you think the ownership situation will pan out? I heard an interview with Gillette where he said he will not sell out to Hicks, and that Parry and Gillette are generally in agreement while Hicks is on his own. The co-ownership seems to have failed completely, but neither side wants to sell. Do you want to see DIC take over? Do you think Hicks and Gillette are finished after this season?

The saying "Be careful what you wish for" springs to mind. The Liverpool board, manager and fans were desperate for wealthy investors and that's exactly what they've got.

How do you think the ownership situation will pan out?

It's a civil war which is dragging our name through the mud. Gillett and Hicks are not in communication, which is unprofessional and immature at best.

The co-ownership seems to have failed completely, but neither side wants to sell.

That's not quite true, Gillett wants to sell. He wants to sell to DIC and take their very generous offer which would cover his debt and give him a mountain of profit. Smart businessman, considering the credit crunch and the necessity of getting a stadium loan and refinancing the current loan. Neither of which they will get.

Do you want to see DIC take over?

Yeah, I did want them in the beginning, although I have to admit to buying into Gillett's promises and welcoming them at the start of their tenure. That was until they started being exposed as liars and Hicks dragging our name down.

I knew and know far more about DIC, their history and about the Sheik and they are a totally different outfit.

I'll tell/show you a bit more about why I wanted DIC the first time and why I want them now...

DIC (basically the investment arm of Dubai, owned by 97% majority by the sheik) have wanted to buy us for at least 3 years, they came very close but pulled out due because David Moores tried to rip them off and get more money out of them, they didn't stand for it and told them to accept the offer or walk away. They did the later.

You have to ask yourself why they want us. For a nation, ruler and it's investment arm that controls trillions of dollars of wealth, has billions of personal wealth and invests many billions across the world to want to buy a football club, you have to realise it's not for the profit. The profits that football clubs make is nothing to them, it's a speck in the ocean. The club is worth far more to them as a shining light in their portfolio, a beacon for what Dubai can achieve. This is important for a place trying to attract people to Dubai.

Then you look at the Sheik himself. He won't settle for second best on anything, Dubai is undergoing massive change and he is at the heart of it is the Sheik. Anyone that knows what's going over there the last 5-10 years will see this man means what he says and excepts nothing but brilliance.

The CEO is a Liverpool fan, he has been a regular match goer for 30 years since he went to University in Liverpool. He was there in Istanbul and Athens and He'll be there again if we get to Moscow. He wants the club, the Sheik wants the club. These men normally get what they want, and when they do, they won't mess around. Wether that's a good thing or a bad thing, it's down to the fans but they won't have anything but the best.

Do you think Hicks and Gillette are finished after this season?

The next little while is crucial. Hicks hasn't got a leg to stand on and his futile attempt to get Parry to resign was further confirmation of it. He has no power, he has less votes in the board room and he has no chance of getting refinancing in 12 months, he must sell at some point, he's just trying to play a game, which he is losing, to get his share value up. It won't work.

If Hicks did manage to buy the club via a shareholder agreement, he'd instantly be faced with an empty stadium next season. There will be matches boycotted if he gets hold of the club. I'm still confident that DIC will be in charge at some point. They want the club, they are fans, they are massively rich and they hate losing.

I've really warmed to the idea of the Barca model. Not quite so much that I'm willing to cough up 10,000 USD.

I think that if the Share LFC group got the pledged money together, G&T would be hardpressed to turn it down (given that Gillett won't sell to Hicks, and apparently Gillett has no interest in buying out Hicks- not that he'd sell anyway.)

I think that both Gillette and hicks are unwilling to sell unless it is at a substantial profit - their takeover was, after all, a financial move first and foremost. DIC claimed that they were "in dreamland" in terms of the valuation of the club when DIC proposed to buy them out. Gillette may be willing to sell now, but Hicks is not. I'm not sure what Hicks is playing at, because his position will only get worse, and in the end he'll be lucky to come out even.

If we want to see the club go down the pan, the easiest way to do it is to sell it to the fans.

No way of financing the stadium and paying it off whilst still being able to afford players. It's never going to work and they've not got enough people to do it anyway.

Wish we'd get it out of our heads to be honest. The best thing that can happen for the club is and always has been DIC.

Stupid American owners, and stupid Parry and Moores.

On a bit of an unrelated tangent. The article on Stevie G being terrorised mentions his dad as Paul Gerrard. If I recall, in his book, his older brother is also called Paul. And I believe in the 'My Life Story' type doco ESPN ran, his best mate was called Paul McGraten?

Does my memory serve me correct?

Anyone else watching the Scottish FA cup semi-final between Queen of the South and Aberdeen?

It a 61 minutes gone and it's 4-3 to QoS and it was only 1-1 at half time. Cracking game
