I absolutely agree. I think it's great that we have all their supporters here.

fixed

Watford have been on a down turn for a long time and hopefully can get enough points to make the playoffs. Although the difference between 5th and 2nd is a win for one and a loss for the other (pretty big scoring games mind ;))

Not the easiest of finishes for Hull.

These are two teams that you normally wouldn't here about in the states.

The only time you ever hear of Hull City is in quizzes, normally:

Which is the largest city in Europe never to have had a top flight footballl team

or

Which is the only football club in the English League where you can not colour in any of the letters

Soon there will be one less football trivia question regarding Hull City

Something good that appears to be coming out the new England camp:

England's players face being axed from the World Cup qualifiers if they try to duck out of the summer friendlies against the United States and Trinidad, with boss Fabio Capello saying: "If a player doesn't love to play for England then perhaps he should stay at home."

Damn bloody right Mr. Capello.

And it was a damn good goal by the Wendies too by all accounts. Apparently Brian Laws' wife is a huge Wendesday fan and if they don't we she won't talk to him, or anything else ;)

Apologies for the delay, I'm just back from holiday. Somethings seriously odd this year, Rangers have a chance at landing FOUR competitions, Hull City supporters are brimming with confidence and Queen of the South are in the Scottish Cup Final!

Was a cracking game - or mad 20 minutes in the 2nd half. QoS have been my Scottish team for the last 25 years or so, by that I mean they are the team I always look out for when the scores come up on Saturday and if I ever get the chance to see one Scottish league match it would be a QoS match

I've never been so interested in the exploits of Hull and Carlisle!

I know what you mean, I even watched some of the Hull match last night, was good to see Windass :D (sorry can't help but laugh when I hear his name) come lumbering on and score with his first touch.

I know that feeling, alllllll too well. If we both go up I'm coming for a pint. ;)
There can be no better combination than promotion and pintage. :)

Lumbered?! His deft touch belied his advancing years and sturdy stature, I'll have you know. :p

Damm, I was going to post that! A guy in the work told me that the other day and I didn't believe him, I've been trying to think of one in all the senior English and Scottish clubs but I can't think of any more.

Old Firm result, 2-1 Celtic :(
Have to put the Buckfast back on ice for another wee while...

Chelsea got past Everton 1-0 in which was a poor game by all accounts. The radio commentary said that is served Sky right the game being poor as they had the crazy idea of playing the game on a Thursday evening (well they would say that wouldn't they!).

I happened to be in the pub when the goal was scored, it was slightly fortunate to get through to eissen but he took it well. Didn't stay in the pub for long as it was full of Everton and Chelsea supports (my favourite combo) but most importantly it had stopped serving food.

Yet more bitching in the Liverpool camp, not good. They need to put up or sell up.

Fernando Torres future under threat as banks keep watchful eye on Liverpool

Liverpool must repay £31.5 million to banking institutions in little more than a year or risk having to sell Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel.

The Times has learnt that Liverpool borrowed the money to sign Torres, the Spain forward who has scored 30 goals this season and has already become a firm favourite on the Kop, from Atlético Madrid last summer. The club then refinanced that debt on January 25, at the same time as they secured a £350 million refinancing package.

Liverpool entered into an 18-month loan agreement with interest of 9 per cent — £2.8 million a year — with a letter of credit to pay back the £31.5 million at the end of the period.

Should Liverpool be unable to pay back or refinance the loan, banks could force the sale of Torres and Babel, who was also included in the smaller refinancing package.

The boardroom and the team manager all hate each other and the club is up to it's eyeballs in debt and risks being forced to sell it's most potent player. It's a real shame!

( :p )

Liverpool FC would be very relieved with Everton getting beat last night as no club has ever been more dependent on Champions League revenue than them in their current financial predicament. 4th place still requires a play off to progress so they will have to defer all major finances and signings until after then.

However much Benitez whinges about the lack of funding (is he mad?) they have overspent for too many years, have too many players that are not good enough on wages that they will never be able to offload.

That's the boat we're in until the new stadium gets done.

The only thing being deferred (from where I'm sitting) is the ownership question. If they're in the CL next year, then they're worth more (at least PV(CL Revenue))

I don't know about no other club having 'been more dependent'... the obvious example is dirty Leeds, who gambled everything on Champions League qualification, so much so that when they failed to qualify they couldn't repay their excessive loans and... well, I'm sure you know the rest of this hilarious tale.

If this report is true, then it looks like the lesson of what happened to Leeds hasn't been learnt.

Anyone else getting bored of all the moaning coming from Liverpool???

So your owners don't like each other, got a debt to payback in 12 months and are only (most likely) going to finish 4th in the Premier League and have a chance of reaching the European Cup final, life is so hard!!!

I am so bored of the whole thing, they shouldn't be washing their dirty laundry in public. As I said before they need to either put up or sell up. DIC here we come.

Hope Rotherham and Bournemouth can keep alive.

There seems to be lots of bids in for both teams, but this has happened so many times, a buy comes in and "saves" the club, then 12 months later it's back to square one. Maybe it's time that the FA allowed owners of the bigger clubs to invest in the smaller ones and use them as a sort of feeder club.
