I am so bored of the whole thing, they shouldn't be washing their dirty laundry in public. As I said before they need to either put up or sell up. DIC here we come.

Hope Rotherham and Bournemouth can keep alive.

If DIC do come in, will Parry be forced out?

Indeed. Both owe hundreds of thousands of pounds and face going out of existence if they can't settle their debts.

Still, it's not all bad news – Rio Ferdinand's signed a new deal that puts him on a rumoured £130,000 a week. Wes Brown and Michael carrick have also put their signatures on lucrative new contracts.

The rich get richer, and all that...

"Skrtel looks like he is walked straight out of one of those gangsta films"

Derby losing yet again. I can't see them getting enough points to avoid the lowest points ever record.

Chaos at Brammall Lane – the linesman flagged for a penalty after Morgan hacked down pacy youngster Frazier Campbell but Mr P Dowd (Staffordshire) didn't notice until several players pointed it out to him. Long discussions resulted in the Sheffield United captain getting red carded and we were awarded a free kick.

If I were a cynical man, I'd point out that Mr P Dowd (Staffordshire) is from Stoke, and that Stoke City will benefit if we don't win today. But I'm not, so I won't. :p

Carlisle lost :( *goes and cries in his room*
getting very nervous now

Well your final two games are against much lower teams so you should win both. But then again so are Doncasters ...

Sounds like Rob Styles is being Rob Styles.

Rooney should've been sent off by all accounts.

Not a particularly good day in terms of results, but one good thing... we've all but secured a play-off place. We can still miss out, but only if Wolves win their remaining three games, we lose our two, and the goal difference between us of +17 is overturned in those fixtures. All in all, not very likely. Which is good. :)

Never going to happen

Sucks to be a Blues fan today, 20 minutes to go and it's 4-1 to the scum. So as it stands, we are in the bottom 3 with 3 to go, now starting to look like it's straight back down for us.

EDIT - going to go and get drunk now. hurts to lose 5-1 but really really hurts to lose 5-1 to them. Not looking forward to work tomorrow :(

I'm not so sure - Bolton and Reading are far from safe, and have a much worse goal difference. You need to beat Fulham, and draw with either Liverpool or Blackburn, but if you can do that I think you'll have a decent shot at staying up. Bolton still needs to face Chelsea and Spurs. Reading should beat Derby, will probably lose to Spurs and the Wigan game could go either way. If you beat Fulham and either of the other teams lose twice things might not be so bad.

It's a relegation battle that might come down to the last day.

Spent most of the afternoon on the BBC site and the predictor seeing what needs to happen to who. Bottom line is I think we make the home games count, pray that Liverpool are more interested in the semi with Chelsea, of course beat Fulham and hope that when it comes to Blackburn on the last day they are already thinking of their summer holidays.

Benitez has nothing to gain by fielding full-strength sides in the Premier League now, except to maintain their match fitness. I expect you'll be facing a weakened team, though our bench players aren't too bad. ;)

Chelsea, on the other hand, might still be pushing for that league title, though it's looking pretty dubious.

It's not an easy run in, but not an impossible task. I've just done the predictor myself and I have Birmingham surviving at the expense of Bolton.

Chin up. ;)

last time we took a real battering like that was against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter final a few years back, kinda scary they are up next for us.

But looking at it with my head and not my heart, I can only see us getting 3 more points (beating Fulham)

Hoping Chelsea need a win on the last day against Bolton, that would give me a little hope.

Getting a draw against Blackurn will be tough, and I think Liverpool will win even if Torres and Gerrard are rested. But Fulham should be beatable.

My predictor has Chelsea tying United in points and losing the title on goal difference (should be called Ronaldo difference). Bolton will go down after getting thumped 3-0 on the last day by Chelsea.

Well Jaffa, that weekend didn't exactly go as expected. Carlisle need to go to Millwall and win now. Hurrah.

The wheels are coming off now though, a sending off that was never a sending off in a million years. We'll appeal but we may have to do without arguably our best player all season and Southend won it in the 91st minute. 5 points from our last 21. Not good. However, those games included Nottingham Forest, Swansea, Leeds and Southend. All supposed to be the 'bigger' sides. We're still in pole position, so lets get automatic promotion.

Indeed – it's now extra important that we beat Crystal Palace this weekend. Their manager Colin Wanker was on the telly this weekend smirking about how forward he was looking to the game, I demand that smugness is wiped from his face at 4.45 this Saturday following a spectacular mauling. :)

The best anagram of all time :D

However, the way things are going, I'm now hoping it's West Brom, Stoke and Watford who get promoted... Reason??? Not looking good for us and I feel they are the 3 strongest teams in the Championship at the moment and with them getting hammered in the Premiership it would (if we do go down) give us a better chance of getting backup at the first attempt.

yum, the smug satisfaction of the monday after a derby win.

To all of those ‘Big Sam’ lovers, you know nowt:

last 6 games form league

by playing “carpet football” (as Sir Bobby Robson calls it) and the best defence of the lot – yep smugness abound!!!
