Does anyone love him?

there have been plenty of people, including many on here who (stupidly) insisted that Newcastle were making a big mistake in getting rid of the odious Big fat Sam.

If you go to page 130 (around 9/1/08) onwards there are a few now shamed.

– more smugness.

Blackpool 2 - 1 Sheff Wed
6' Claus Bech Jorgensen 1
12' 1 Richard Wood
30' Paul Dickov 2
51' Peter Gilbert

7 draws in a row and then this... we are very near relegation... :(

yum, the smug satisfaction of the monday after a derby win.

To all of those ‘Big Sam’ lovers, you know nowt:

last 6 games form league

by playing “carpet football” (as Sir Bobby Robson calls it) and the best defence of the lot – yep smugness abound!!!

You weren't quite so keen when he first got the job ;)

get ready for loads of geordie retards stopped by news crews and saying “wor kev’s back, its grrreat mann, howay da tooonn”

and even more retarded pundits/commentators saying “50 years without a trophy, is he the man to bring silverware to those deserving fans” – and take note that its the media who keep stating that the newcastle fans deserve silverware for being a “big” club.

I myself am going for a trip in my tardis to get in the mood for this circus show because at the minute I am gutted but need to collect some euphoria from years back to enjoy this.

Allardyce took Bolton about as far as that team could go IMHO, so you could have done much worse in coach selection. I think Bolton made a mistake in getting rid of him, and I think Newcastle didn't give him enough time to make any impact, good or bad.

Newcastle still have to play Chelsea and Everton, and they'll be lucky if they take 1 point from those two matches. Still, the team has been showing a lot more confidence lately. They may beat West Ham but I think they can expect 4 points at best from their last three matches.

Some people will never admit that they are very wrong.

No shame at all here. :)

The question is, is Keegan the best option for Newcastle long-term? I'd suggest not. In all fairness, he's had a good run of results after an abysmal start to the job but I can't see him being anything other than a mid-table manager. For one thing, I don't think he deals with pressure especially well and next season the onus is going to be on him to take Newcastle forward after steering them away from the bottom this term. I'll be interested to see how he does.

By the way, on the subject of Big Sam – Allardyce Watch! The earpiece wearing Geordie botherer has been spotted chewing gum in the stands at the KC recently, no doubt as a guest of his close chum Phil Brown. This has led to some outlandish talk about us appointing him in some capacity, such as 'Director of Football' – I think not. We don't need Newcastle's cast offs. ;)

Beware – pride comes before a fall, especially where football is concerned... ;)

<shrug> It's possible that Keegan will be better (they certainly seem to be playing well now). But Allardyce wasn't around for very long, it just seemed to me that he was removed because Mike Ashley wanted Keegan in, regardless of what Allardyce was doing.

I think he (like Allardyce) will find it very hard to progress in a mid-table table crowded with good teams fighting for UEFA cup spots and Carling Cup/FA Cup glory, assuming there are a couple Barnsleys around to knock out the big four next year. :D

I know Newcastle supporters don't like Allardyce and think he was doing very bad things indeed at St. James' Park, but in the interests of balance I think it's only right to point out probably the finest thing he did for the club during his short tenure there – he got shut of Titus Bramble. :D

I think once people have cooled down a bit and remember this they'll look back on Big Sam's time more favourably. :)

No i didn't i go to university in Essex so its expensive and time consuming for me to travel up, the latter especially now with exams coming up.
Fret not, they'll have a few games closer to you next season – Charlton, Crystal Palace, QPR... ;)

A good move...possibly balanced by the joey Barton acquisition, but Barton (when out of jail) is probably a more useful to Newcastle than Bramble was.

the smugness was aimed at now NUFC mathematically cant be relegated and that some (still) think good on Big Sam, NOT that we are now ‘big time charlies’. This brief few weeks of ‘glory’ is much hard earned, trust me.

Be warned clubs/fans out there, strong rumours going around here that Big Sam and Fat Freddie Shepherd are looking to go into partnership and buying a club in the championship with their fleeced money, watch out!!

Mates, I am not sure who I am going to support tonight... Chelsea or Liverpool?
On the one hand i like Chelsea as many Russians.. On the other hand I don't like the game they show over the last matches especially Champions League's ones..
Liverpool seems to be far better for me... So I have a dilemma.. :)
But what is good is that I will definitely glad if any of these 2 will be in final! :D
So I will support beautiful game tonight considering that if Chelsea passes Liverpool it will be greater interest from Russians in Moscow Final... ;)

it will be a very boring 0-0, don’t build your hopes up on this one!

Did you? heard we were shocking in the first half

Yeah, wouldn't miss it. We weren't that bad, Southend we're just very good. We could and should have gone on to win it but for Ravo's sending off. Which wasn't.

Fret not, they'll have a few games closer to you next season – Charlton, Crystal Palace, QPR... ;)

I love you Jaffa Cake. :D I hope your right. You'll hopefully get to go just up the road to Sunderland, Newcastle and 'Boro. Although it is a bit of a shame, because I was looking forward to coming to Hull.

I expect that Benitez will be happy with a 0-0 or even a 1-1 draw, but with Torres and Gerrard hitting on all cylinders I think they could score 2 against Chelsea.

So I'll go a little optimistic and predict a 2-0 Liverpool win.

I think the absence of Essien will be felt by the blues; Drogba is out too (I think) but Anelka is still dangerous.

The only problem I can find with Liverpool - Chelsea games, is of course that there can be only one looser.

That's funny, I feel the same way about Chelsea - Man U games. ;)

I don't think anybody realistically thinks Barca has a chance against United...on paper they are a world-class team but on current form they will be lucky to go out with their dignity intact.

Fret not, we can meet up in London next season before the Hull City-Carlisle United FA Cup final. We can laugh at how they talk down there and complain about how poor the beer is. Happy days. :)

Anyway, more pressing matters – tonight's big match. I'm really hoping the reds can pick up a win this evening. They've not had a good season all things considered, and tonight it's imperative they get a result or it's essentially all over for them.

So good luck Wrexham in your crunch clash against Hereford United. :)

Liverpool 1-0 Chelski.

Somehow I had a feeling Kuyt would score, since I've been calling him useless the whole season. Granted, it was mostly down to defensive errors but I'll take it.
