Is Phil Brown still with Hull?

Yeah, he came about a month ago and at first we got some good results but things havn't improved. A few people have suggested Phil Brown came in to take over from Parkinson if and when he got the push but I dont think he is manager material. He should shick at what he does best, First Team Coach.

Hopefully we will get someone in before the game at Plymouth on Saturday. I went there last year and Plymouth where very poor. They are doing better this year with a new manager who I wish Hull had got during the summer. Shame really.

Sunbed is a good coach and well thought of here in Bolton. Ian Dowie has been mentioned, he's familiar with the Bolton setup, still has home here, and would make an excellent team with PB coaching. Oh dear, that sounds wrong, what I mean is that they know each other well, I'm not recruiting over here.

A quote from the Gaurdian today:

Ashley Cole's barrister in the 'tapping-up' case has revealed the defender was Arsenal's PFA representative while at the club - but "appeared to have no knowledge of the fact".

Do we have any hope of success with people like that in our national team? I also think that at the moment Wayne Bridge should be our left back as his quality of crosses has been far better than Coles. I really dont see Cole doing well at Chelsea as his style of play fits Arsenal so well, I dont think Chelsea are capable of playing the same style.

Yeah. True.. I guess it comes down to if the offside player is showing an effort to get back onside. If he is, its the defenders fault for marking him when he's offside - if not, he gets called as offside? Blaugh. :p More complicated than I thought.

Granted, I haven't been watching the Premiership that long, but is it my imagination, or do many of the offsides calls seem arbitrary? The first attacker can't be past the last defender when the ball is kicked toward him, right? Is it more complicated than that?

Yeah, the first attacker has to be level with or behind the last defender to be onside. However, if the first attacker is not interfering with play, ie. he is walking back, or not attacking, and the second attacker, coming from an onside position, gets the ball.. that is fine.

And yet it seems to be called differently at least once per game. I guess it's no weirder than not knowing exactly how much time is left in a half.

Not that soccer has a monopoly on that. Baseball's strike zone is about the most subjective thing in the world, even though the rule book is pretty specific.

How is it called differently? It's called wrongly quite a lot.. but that is just an error on the judgement of whether the player is level with the last man or not.

By 'differently' I mean different from the official rule. In other words, wrongly.

No way, Jose.

Jose Mourinho has suggested that – in order to give Premier League reserve sides more competitive games – they should be allowed to compete in the Football League. Arsene Wenger apparently thinks it's a good idea as well.

If they really want their out of favour stars to get some football league matches under their belts, then send them out on loan. We'll take Shaun Wright-Phillips off your hands for a bit if it'll help you out, Jose. ;)

They'd better not go for Dowie as his replacement, we've got our eye on him! :(

Can't see it. They'll go for someone more high profile I thinks. Sven? Could see Crubs myself for that one.

Odds on as well,

THE RACE TO SUCCEED PARDEW
7/4 Alan Curbishley
6/1 Sven-Goran Eriksson
7/1 George Graham
14/1 Glenn Hoddle, David O'Leary, Iain Dowie

Yah, 2 wins... against Wigan and Fulham... 11th and 14th... Oh how the LiverPoor train rolls on...

Man Utd are only top on the strength of victories against teams like these. Unlike united Liverpool have played the other top 3 teams away from home and also played their city derby away from home. Dropped points like those will let Chelsea back into the race.

All rosy when you're sat at the top of the table after less than half a season though, isn't it.

Looks like "LiverPoor" won't be poor for much longer though, doesn't it. Better than being £500m in debt I suppose. "LiverPoor" seem to have done pretty well the last couple of seasons, unlike Man Utd.

Oh. It's like that is it?

We'll start with this season... Man Utd 1-0 Tottenham, Man Utd 2 - 0 Liverpool, Man Utd 4 - Bolton (5th), Man Utd 3 - 0 Pompy (3rd) and a point against Chelsea. I'd say the season was built on results like that, and made sure on the forth coming away results.

05/06
1. Chelsea
2. United
3. Liverpool

04/05
1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. United
4. Everton (Imagine that)
5. Liverpool

03/04
1. Arsenal
2. Chelsea
3. United
4. Liverpool

02/03
1. United
2. Arsenal
3. Newcastle
4. Chelsea
5. Liverpool.

Anyway, I think you get the point.

I do agree that the forthcoming away fixtures are important to us, but so was this last week, and we've flown through that. If we can keep this up ill be more than happy.

However, I fear LiverPoor will be Poor for a long time to come, they've always been PL Almosts... Although not always that 'almost'

However, I refuse to argue with you over Home and Away fixtures, so I shall leave you witg the stats. Enjoy.

One step at a time.

Sure, Liverpool may not be able to catch up to ManUre and Chelski, but being in 4th at the end of the season guarantees appearances in other competitions PLUS it shows that they're still playing pretty well.

Isn't that what everyone is going for now? 1st and 2nd have quickly become out of reach. The race for the other two Champions League spots is pretty crowded, about eight teams within a few points of third.

I'm just saying that chickens counted too early often croak it. Away fixture such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be vital to Chelsea.

With the Dubai investment, I can smell yet another league title and yet another european cup coming back to Anfield.

Feel free to drop by our trophy room, it might remind you of the good times. We won this for keeps.

Not true - look at last year for example. Chelsea were 24 points ahead of liverpool at one point last year and finished just 9 off the top. There is enough games for things to dramatically change. I've seen it happen many many times over the years.

Maybe, but I didn't say a thing about our title hopes, twoz you who mentioned those.

IT was, and I bought it up because you were belittling the importance of winning against teams like Wigan and Fulham. 3 points are 3 points, no matter where teams are after a few games, it's not even half-time yet. The table has yet to even itself out.

Europe, well, thats a different story altogether. Big teams scraping through the group stages (or not) year after year, where as liverpool have topped the group yet again this year.

Time for number 6, I feel.
