I'm just saying that chickens counted too early often croak it. Away fixture such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be vital to Chelsea.
They also have to play Tottenham again. Chelsea had trouble with them last time.

Premier League site says it's 2-2 right now. I am hoping for a draw so Liverpool can remain in uncontested 3rd place.Arsenal trailing Portsmouth 0-2, what the hell's going on?

Game ends in a 2-2 draw. Thanks for that, I was following it on Arsenal's own website, where they've got commentary up to the 47th minute. Good to see that they're up on the latest technology.![]()
Well this thread has been quiet for a while so I thought I would bring some life back into it. I have been sat here thinking about the offside rule, yes I am that bored!
Anyway, people say that an attacking player should not be called offside if he is not active. I can see the opinion regarding this but it becomes such a contentious rule, i.e. when does he become active? 1, 2, 3 passes time? I think that if you are going to have this active / passive rule then it should also apply to defenders. If you have a defender on the oposite side of the pitch that is playing someone at the other side of the pitch into an on-side position then is he still active?
I just think that FIFA have made the offside rule too complex and old Sep should stick to what he knows best, like trying to make women footballers have tighter tops!
Drogba is a great player but he is/was a cheat no denying that.
Personally I think the offside rule should be as it was. If he is offside, then he is offside. None of this interfering with play crap. If hes on the pitch hes interfering with play because someone has to mark him.
I am a Barça fan. Drogba is an arse!

i think (if i read your post correctly) you've mixed up the words "attacking" with "attacker" or "striker". a defender can also be an attacking player don't forget. if, however, you meant a defender, actually defending, well, then it would just be impossible to rule, that's why the defense as a whole has to work so well together to push up and creat the trap. defenders should ALWAYS be active in that respect.
i remember a few months back when Liverpool scored but Cisse was rules to be not interfering when the ball went straight past him and he stood there...n my mind (and i'm a liverpool fan) he was offside as he looked like he was going to go for the ball but didn't, he was too close to it for him to be ruled "passive".
It's even better if you look at it as they conceded nine goals to them across the two cup ties...So just how exactly did Liverpool concede 6 goals at home to Arsenal?![]()

Seems like Benitez was not going for the win with Tuesday's starting 11, and they dropped three points with their worst loss since what, the 30s?
I'm enjoying Chelsea's current form, except for the fact that it essentially allows Man U to run away with the title.
