Gotta love Ferguson's response: "We won't lose like that again" pfffft.
No, he didn't look best pleased did he? When Sir Alex isn't happy, I'm happy. :p

I'd like to offer my thoughts and in-depth analysis of this afternoon's mach, but as I was distracted by a three-year old pirate jumping up and down on me throughout the ninety minutes I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on this one. ;)

What an amazing game. The atmosphere was very very good from van Persies goal onwards, and I have never experienced anything like when Henry scored. Mental. The best thing was the video they showed at the end of the game at the stadium where the screen was split down the middle showing the reactions of Wenger and Ferguson to Henry's goal at the same time. Awesome. :D

Quality.

There's nothing like rubbing salt in the wounds of Man Utd - except maybe doing the same to Chelsea ;)

They're saying he could have broken his ankle, Mitt, so it doesn't look good at the moment.
Yes, I know, that's what worried me...

A small hope in the latest news Sunday evening, though:

Everton physiotherapist Mick Rathbone has given evertonfc.com the very latest news on the injury to Andy Johnson.

The Blues striker was stretchered off during the 2-0 victory at Wigan Athletic on Sunday sparking fears that he may have suffered a serious injury.

Preliminary checks have revealed ‘no obvious fracture' but Johnson's condition will be more closely looked at during the next 24 hours.

"Andy was taken off after injuring his left ankle," said Rathbone.

"He was taken to the casualty department at Wigan Infirmary where a series of x-rays were done.

"There is no obvious fracture but we will be undertaking a few more specific investigations tomorrow."

A full diagnosis of the injury and any sort of estimation as to the length of time Johnson will be missing from action will not be made until Monday evening.
My (slightly) optimistic emphasis...

MOTD 2 will be great tonight.

Hopefully todays game make the Premiership a good close finish.

Finishes like the Arsenal one are great. I had one last weekend at Hull City, 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to win the game, BRILLIANT!

Hope AJ is OK. I broke my leg in two places in October and I have only just started to walk a few paces without support so it is a long road to recovery. All the best.

Did van Persie break a bone in his foot when he scored the magnificant equaliser?
They've just said on Match of The Day that he's apparently done his fifth metatarsal.

Indeed. I was reminded of that match when I was watching the game, and again when I read XIII's post a little earlier. It's good to see teams fighting back to get an equaliser, but not settling for the point and going for the win – especially when it's a team playing as cynically and negatively as QPR were.

Did you see the Championship? Dennis Wise had a pop at a West Brom player for time wasting and being unsporting. He would have taken the whole QPR team on, and probably won!

I dont think it is limited to lower league football. Time wasting and negative tactics is bad for the game. I suppose it isnt noticeable so much in the Premiership as the skill and ability usually shows through.

This has really made my weekend. I can't shake off the happy feeling! :D

New quote for the signature.. :)

Football has that strange effect on people. At the end of the day it is only a game, and we are not even the ones playing, we just have to sit there and watch!

For me if I have a great round of golf then that is good, but watching a great game of football is better, and I am crap at playing football!

Shiiiit.. 6 weeks. He has been playing so well recently. :(

What would you rather have, Van Persie out for 6 weeks or a fit Shevchenko?

Maybe Arsene will dip into the transfer market. There is at least half the French team don't play for them yet :D

:)

Arsene has said no one is coming in this transfer window several times. Our squad is strong enough, we just need consistency. We have shown we are good enough - 10 points out of a possible 12 in games between the top 4 this season. I guess we have to hope Ade is up to the task, and maybe we will see some more of Aliadiere/Baptista upfront. Ali played very well against L'pool in the CC.

Indeed – with a squad possessing the size and quality of Arsenal's I don't see a need to dip into the transfer market. There are plenty of young players on the books – this will be an excellent chance to give a couple of them some valuable first team experience.

Get the boy Walcott in there, Arsene. ;)

He's starting Wednesday night against Sp*rs for sure. :) Spurs first team vs. Arsenal's teens.. should be a good game. :D

We toyed with the idea of going along to see the City vs Arsenal FA Youth Cup match on Wednesday – we decided to give it a miss though, which is a pity because I could have recommended some promising French 16-year olds for you to look out for. ;)

I read about that.. Apparently you made us fight hard for the win but we were worth it overall.. say Arsenal.com. :) A totally neutral, unbiased source.

Apparently we were badly done by after the ref harshly sent of two of our players... says hullcityafc.net, a totally neutral, unbiased source. :D

Still, the good news is that at least our youth set up is looking better than it has done in recent years. One of our more promising youngsters has already made a couple of substitute appearances for the first team which is good to see. It's also pleasing that they're mainly all local lads – not a Spaniard in sight. ;)

A higly enjoyable game!

My only disappointment is the van Persie injury and that the win keeps Chelsea 6 points behind Man United. ;) :D

well I suppose it keeps the league race more interesting. A 9-point gap plus ManUre's goal difference would have made it just about done.

That said, having to choose between ManUre and Chelski for the league is like having to choose between death by electrocution and death by hanging.
