Best thing is, for all the talking up and 'great things are expected' comments, the Hull City team of the 1935-36 season were spectacularly poor – they were relegated after finishing bottom of Division Two, managing only five wins from 42 matches and conceding 111 goals.

We've done slightly better since, mind.

Italian football is in the brown and smelly again!

All matches have been suspended following the death of a police man at a game tonight.

Now what do they call it, oh yeah... "The Beautiful Game"

:(

Man....

So, this is what we call freedom to do what we like, eh?

Sometimes we need a police state, just to protect the normal from these freaking idiots.
I really get so annoyed with this type of behaviour. And, no, ofcourse we cannot generalise... but the italians aren't doing themselves a favour in football are they.

And as usual... after a couple of weeks we all forget about it. But I so sympathise with these brave policemen who try to restore some degree of law and order in these chaotic anarchists we call supporters.

Let's give the whole police force a day off when the next Italian series of matches start. Maybe these hooligans will kill eachother...

Good fight back from Arsenal I guess, being down a man. I really need to figure out a way to watch matches from here in CA.

Yeah. Apparently we played pretty poorly too, so I can't feel too harshly done. :( I do wish Henry and Ade would stop their dance though - I feel its excluding the rest of the team. The celebration should acknowledge the provider - against Spurs Ade didn't acknowledge Rosicky who had put the goal on a plate for him, shoved Hoyte out the way and ran to celebrate with Henry. Grr. Just annoys me.. heh.

Well, having just finished watching the English and Spain Under-21's play to a 2-2 draw, it seems as good a time as any to ask opinions on the brand new 2007-2009 England shirt which was released today and worn for the first time this evening at Pride Park...

Personally, I don't think it's that bad at all. The thin red stripe reminds me of the older shirt we wore 5-6 years ago (most notably in the 5-1 victory over Germany), which is one of my favourite England shirts. I'm not convinced by the underarm Lion detail or the Umbro diamonds on the right shoulder, but that aside I rather like it.

You're all just jealous. :D

Personally, my hair is starting to get a bit long and I was going to get it cut at dinnertime – but due to a looming print deadline I wasn't able to. It's proved to be a blessing in disguise as I can now grow it into an even more unkempt style and dye it a copperish hue in honour of our new hero. Ace. :)

I hope Ray can still cut it (not his hair!). People took the piss out of The Who as they are playing in Hull this year. Our team is going some way to rival them at the moment!

I think he is a very hard worker and gives it his all and hopefully he will give us that bit of extra fight and a quality final ball. I heard Phil Brown today say that Arsenal where on the verge of giving him a contract but we beat them to it. Yeah right Phil, you just keep believing that!

In other news, Fabregas is the Barclays Player of the Month. :)

On a serious note, do you think he deserved it? I don't think anyone has shone this month, so I'm not saying I have someone else id have given it too, but I just aint heard anything outstanding about him (Or anyone in particular, for that matter) this month. *Shrugs*

Edit: James Milner? Edit, Edit: Jonathan Woodgate?

On another note, I love how we've all just completely overlooked discussing England. Personally, I left after the first half...

With only 3 Premiership games to judge, its pretty hard to say. We beat Charlton 4-0, Blackburn 0-2 and Manchester United 2-1.. and he was fairly instrumental in all of them. Hard to call it really.

Which is fair enough. For a lack of Saturday nights at the moment I aint really watched much Premiership action, so as I say I can't really call it for anyone, was just wondering what you thought. :)

Fair enough. Who have you got this weekend?
