We can mock, but Leeds is still home to a big-time club.

Nice kit

Kanu signs for Pompey if anyone is interested...

... *tumbleweed blows by* ...

Even Portsmouth die-hards are 'meh' about this one. Nugent and Benjani to steal the show this season.

Kanu is my subsitute striker in my fantasy football team, so i'm pleased he will stay. (I only got him cos he was cheap)

Looks like they'll be playing with a decent pair up front.

Sorry.

:D

Anyone want to know the best site in football (Apart from the cracking strike force at the top of the page)?

Well

Shame Scarborough folded really. They were looking forward to hosting Leeds in four years time :)

The newly reformed Scarborough Athletic will be competing in the Northern Counties East Football League Division One this season, seven levels below Leeds. So they might still get to lock horns in a few years' time.

They're groundsharing with Bridlington Town at the moment (Scarborough, not Leeds – although that might only be a matter of time), so we're thinking of popping to see them one weekend when we go to see my parents. :)

It's a Hull season ticket, isn't it anyway?
Oi! Stop pointing your mocking finger at us, we need it in peak condition for when Leeds visit Brunton Park.

I'm sorry, just set yourself up a little, and I'm not one to let any opportunity to go begging. ;)

In other news, I finally get to go get my new Carlisle shirt this morning, yey!
Ours is delayed for two weeks :(

Diadora have rejected the batch they received from their machinists as not good enough. The club says they're keen to impress us as a new client, so the quality control is going to be very high. Personally I think it's because they're Italian and it's August  There's another batch on order for two weeks time, but it means only the team get the new kit until then.

Sucks. :(

I arrived at the Blues Store at 5 to 9 this morning to a queue :)eek:) and Carlisle are historically crap at ordering enough shirts, but I got mine by half 9, so its all good. Just a little late to work. Bah.

At least they're not trying to fob you off with dodgy gear.

The Diadora shirts we got over the past three seasons were of wildly varying quality, from the quite superb to the downright shoddy. There were quite a lot of complaints about the 05/06 home shirt in particular, Miss Jaffa Cake’s dad and cousin both had to return theirs after a month or so after bits started falling off. That shirt was supposed to be the kit for two seasons, but it ended up only being worn for one as it was so rubbish.

So keep your eye on them. ;)

Ah. So maybe the club aren't just being charitable then. Ta for the info.

I'm not overly bothered about the delay myself as I probably won't manage to attend a game until September. As long as I have it by then I'm quite happy. The club haven't yet charged my credit card either.

However, there's a lot of unhappy campers on the supporter's boards, although it's tempered by us signing Dominic Blizzard from Watford for two years :) That's one signing and two season long loans announced in two days!

Come on County!!!

Meanwhile, there are rumbles of discontent from those clad in black and amber about a rubbish summer of transfer dealings – basically the new chairman mentions someone famous he wants to sign, we have a chat with them and then we decide they ‘wouldn’t fit into the team’.

On the plus side, Bryan Hughes and Richard Garcia (free transfers from Charlton and Colchester respectively) have looked good in pre-season, and of course we’ve got Dean Windass in on a permanent deal now. Thing is, last season the manager was complaining he didn’t have the players to play a proper 4-4-2... and after a summer of signings he’s now saying that he doesn’t have the players to play a proper 4-4-2.

Bloody hell. :(

Mmmm top right. Perfection.

And goal of the month goes to ... Steve ****ing Gerrard.

Babel showed some promise by creating that lethal chance. Torres and kuyt seemed to work well together and Kuyt's work ethic was behind the first goal (as well as Gerrard's deathly pass).

I think Bouma was lucky to stay on the field and Carras handball was needless.
