black 16gb preparing to ship

ordered it around 3:15est and just last night around 11:00pm est it switched over from the processing stage.

What is so terrible? Only 1 phone was for me. The others were for friends who are 15 year att customers are who had an iphone 4 and were all eligible for a fully subsidized upgrade purchase since their contracts were up. They just gave me their information and I placed their orders under their names and accounts which they are entitled to purchase just like you or I.

I just happen to ALWAYS be able to get my orders through and ALWAYS receive them on launch day so they asked me if I could place their orders too. As a friend I just helped them out.

----------

Oh and 3 of the phones have departed china today per ups reference tracking

Oh and I too am a 15 year customer also!

I misunderstood. I thought you purchased 6 to sell. Sorry. :p

I posed this in another thread, but I thought this may be useful to many here as well.

Important Note When Looking up Tracking info on UPS

I appreciate the user who posted the tip, and after fooling around with UPS I found out a small issue. Like others I ordered phones from a sperate phone number and not my own. For the UPS Track by Reference trick to work you need to put in the phone number UNDER BILLING INFORMATION .

After trying numerous times to lookup the two iPhone 5s I ordered, I finally put in my own phone number (same # under Apple's billing info) and that worked like a charm!

Hope this helps anybody having an issue looking up their phone.

P.S. My phone has been Prepared for Shipment since early this morning, so if you just got your status upgraded, don't freak out if it's not coming up.
Thanks for the tip. This worked for me.

Must you be a smart ass everywhere you post?

You have to excuse him. He's daftdrunk.

Tried to track by reference...

It says all
>>> Not all tracking information is available at this time. Please try again later.

Any idea what that means. When i enter different phone number it comes up no info found.

Just a heads up... if you need to change the shipping address to your work/other than billing. You need to do it before it goes into "Preparing for shipment". I called and basically told they can't make a change since it's being prepared, so my next call has to come after the status changes to "shipped" which imo is ******** since Apple could make this process much easier by simply allowing me to ship to the same address I have shipped the last 5 or 6 orders from them, my work. Oh well, good luck changing it if you need to.

Considering I placed the order at 2:33am Friday morning, attempted to call twice during the day and was basically cut off/hung up on by the automated system when going thru the prompts to get the address changed. Finally Sat afternoon just asked for customer service vs going thru the voice prompts held for about 20 mins. but did speak to someone, but clearly that was pointless as they are "preparing to ship" my iPhones a full week before delivery. Sounds like the easy way out to me on Apple's part.

My iPhone was backordered. Does this mean I have to order it again or do I just wait till it ships?

That airplane can only hold so many packages. The aircraft has a maximum take off weight. So im assuming they have to split the shipments up. And they will be held at sorting facilities till release day.

How many iPhones can we fit in so the theoretical MTOW? Remember, MTOW should never be reached.

One iPhone only weights 0.4kilogram I think. So you can put plenty of iPhones into the plane.

I have one of each. A black one still Processing and a White one "Preparing for Shipment".

At the end of the day, it's immaterial what state it is in. It will get delivered when they say it will be.

Taking it will be a B744 so about 875,000 pounds. But you have to think unless UPS has arranged planes for iPhone alone your going to have other packages on that flight. And an empty plane is about 395,000 pounds.
Max payload on a B744F is 248,300 lbs.

That's a lot of iPhones, assuming aircraft are specifically transiting iPhones across their network.
