Yeah - it looks exactly like what I wanted. My Mac in AR for Xcode, plus unlimited secondary visionOS windows, which I can also control via my mac keyboard/mouse/trackpad.

I watched the verge review, it was great, but I can't help but think Nilay can't empathize with anyone outside of his own situation - most people don't work as Editor in Chief of a tech news website, where they are constantly interacting with people as their entire job. Of course he would choose "reality" - he would be taking the thing on/off constantly to talk to people.

As someone who works remote - this is the perfect device for my situation - I can bring my windows into the laundry room and fold laundry, or be cooking lunch while listening into a meeting, and still respond to things on slack. And at my desk I'm not limited by the physical space/layout of things.

Very good point. I also don't think, despite the demos apple has shared, people are playing to use this in an office environment where they interact with people.

These are going to be very interesting. I just couldn't bring myself to drop such a sum of money on a beta product so I am really looking forward to the in-depth reviews and unboxings. its impressive for lots of reasons but it also has a lot of flaws, weight, cost, and battery life being the main ones for me.

I have seen a lot of people on this forum with buyers remorse over the years at dropping so much money on products. Some people will have used a credit card or loan to buy this thing so it will be interesting if they can get genuine value out of it day to day. Or whether its just an expensive toy.

Either way its exiting, and from a visual design perspective I think it looks stunning.
Neither I. And I suspect the tech is common or outdated in 5 years, but that’s just a gut feeling.

But it does look nice.

It would be nice if they could delegate all the processing to a connected iPhone and fit the cameras/sensors into a normal glasses frame... Then it would be for the masses

He mentioned getting queezy from watching movies , I feel the same on my quest 3 watching youtube....I think waiting for this to mature is the wise thing to do
iJustine said that motion sickness is common if you move your head around.

She said if you sit still and watch, you won't get ill...

Will see - can't wait to watch my first Disney in 3D this Friday.

Man, I’m so excited about the Disney+ and NBA app!

I knowwwww Apple has to have something for the Super Bowl halftime show, right?

Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Usher briefly had the headset on. Lol. Damn good promotion to 100 million + people.

All the reviewers sharing their screen recordings (and their shaking) was certainly less impressive than Apple's marketing. I understand that has to do with screen recording quality. I will admit the reviews did not make me even more excited for Friday. I'll keep it regardless, 14 days isn't really enough to fully find out its potential over the next couple years. Also, glad I didn't splurge for the 1T model. This Gen 1 version is for "lets just see what it can do".

I will probably own one in 3 years. I do not have the expendable income to risk on this product yet, but I will be eventually.

I think you have to take their words as fact instead of the shaky cam footage.

i'm more hyped than ever, I knew what I was getting into before buying it, if you were getting cold feet after watching it you wouldn't have liked it anyway

So basically these are going to be reviews these people did weeks ago but due to NDA's are only now allowed to release their video because Mr. Brownlee gives it away in the first few seconds of the video by referring to the box he has as one that buyers would most likely receive once they get their VP.
Yup. That's how it works. No different from when a new iPhone, Galaxy, etc gets released.

I am amused by the final words in the Verge review, asking if you really want a computer that has video cameras looking at your hands at all times... hardly the ideal porn viewer after all. 🤣🤣
its the almost ideal porn viewer.😂

The nausea comments are making me a little nervous. I will definitely be the ultimate test of that, I get nauseous just looking at a boat. I'll let everyone know on Friday afternoon .

I must be a laundry wiz because I don't understand how this is even a use-case worth mentioning. Maybe 20 minutes per week and I have 4 kids. You guys changing clothes 3 or 4 times a day?? ;)

This is a regular VR headset that disguises itself as an AR headset. For 3,500 bucks. In person, the helmet looks smaller than expected. Heavy. 650 grams makes itself felt.
Face scanning is funny implemented, but you need to keep your glasses in a death grip.
Lags are visible in the interface.
