I am getting crazy!

My 2.6 GhZ 15-inch / 16GB / 512 GB / 750m beast took all the sight-seeing from Shanghai, South Korea, Kasachstan, Poland and ist now waiting in Cologne since thursday night, which is about 10 kilometers away from me... Its getting me crazy that UPS doesnt work on saturdays which is a normal work day here in germany. I guess I will have to wait until tuesday or wednesday due to the fact that import control didnt showed up yet in the tracking ( or did they stopped showing it ?!) ... I dont know what to do with my life until tuesday ...

Yeah, get used to the Mac first. Have fun learning everything.

Well, that didn't last long. I was loading some books on MB and just happened to open one up using iBooks and I finally got the mac-ness. Mon Dieu! It's freaking amazing.

I'm supposed to go pick up my moshi shell today and I'm thinking of picking up the iPad Air while I'm there.

finally an update!
why it's been sat in china doing nothing for 2 days though - unsure!

I think I'm going to hold out for the iPad mini. Are you getting used to the size of the 15-inch rMBP now?

Another lost day in my life. It's a terrible feeling to get a baby, knowing it somewhere around there all in the dark just 10 kilometers away and there is nothing you can do about it. What if it becomes an anxious personality due to this trauma ?

Final Destination: Germany.
Scheduled Delivery:
Wednesday, 11/06/2013, By End of Day

Might be a day earlier. Seems it is making good progress :)

@ganomi:
Looks like our MBP's are in the same wagon/flight. (Even though mine took a day off in Shanghai to see the city). Destination is Denmark, so I think it'll arrive as estimated: Wednesday.

Don't think of it as another day lost - think of it as a day where you can do other things before the new 'baby' consumes your entire waking moment. Start preparing for what you'll need (diapers/formula: cases, sleeve, etc) and what you'll feed 'baby'(apps and such).

I spent a bulk of my weekend trying to set this up because I need it for work next week and need to make sure I have all my work tools as well as my fun tools.

I know how you feel because I could not wait for it to get here, but it's only a day or so away.

I just looked at the specs for mini and it seems very tempting. I have the ipad 2 and did not want to get something too small, but the mini is rather close to the air. Also, the mini does have 128GB - which is definitely worth considering.

I'm getting used to the size a little after maxing out the resolution to 1920, but it's stationary since I'm home. I leave town tonight and I'll compare this week. I hope I find the size manageable because I know the 13 does not offer similar specs.

Tantalising...

Been stuck in Germany over the weekend, date is scheduled for the 5th (London).

Maybe this will make you feel better, but I don't think it was stuck in Germany over the weekend. UPS probably did not update their tracking information. I bet you'll get it either Monday or Tuesday.

Sounds like you are enjoying it. No, the 13-inch does not have the horsepower of the 15-inch, but for most people it's going to be plenty. Depends what you are doing with machine. But the 15-inch is really the best laptop money can buy, especially the maxed-out version. However in my opinion it's the 13-inch, I like the size as I'll be traveling with it a lot.

Warehouse Scan... a status that you do not see often. hope they do not let it rot in a warehouse for days just because it is scheduled for delivery on wednesday...

You guys are so funny. Just stay off the site for a day - it's the weekend and nothing will show up as far as updates. You'll get it tomorrow .

Mine may or may not be delivered today... and I need to be here to sign for it because apple policy, problem is it's in the hand of a local courier now and there's no way to track them...

That's the same time I started waiting and I learnt more about macs than I ever knew possible. I spent my time watching numerous YT clips, tutorials, reviews...it was pathetic. I even had my mac shopping list lined up in my Amazon cart. Oh yea, I had a special mac fund account - ready to spend my money.

I dealt with the disappointment, rumors, and analyst's predictions. If you see a burning effigy of Kuo, let's just say it could have been me(just kidding!).

On D-day, I placed my order a couple hours after the event. It was funny because I was so excited I could not decide - which is silly because I planned to get the most loaded system so there was not much to decide.

Order in and the waiting began. It did not arrive that first week because it was a BTO so I spent the weekend tracking and also shopping for my MB. That included cables - mini displayport to VGA(2 - not sure why) until I realize mini displayport to DVI can be used for my work monitor...AND it's a better quality. The I spent countless hours researching sleeves and shells and did not want to go too crazy for starters - so I ordered a simple black incase sleeve from amazon and a moshi shell from apple store.

Order arrived on Tuesday, but I work out of town and did not get back home until Thursday. Got home, quickly unpacked, had a quick dinner and unpacked my MB - it was beautiful. Spent the entire weekend prepping it for Monday as I work out of town and needed things just set - installed parallels, windows, all that stuff and here I am at work on my MB connected to the external monitor and it's just a breeze.

I'm very impressed by the simplicity of it all - then again, I think I would have been able to do all this on a windows pc. What I'm amazed by is this is my first mac - first time on a mac ox - and the transition could not have been simpler.
