It's not even an option for me

you need to trigger the function first for the option to appear in your settings. if your case isn't doing it, flip the cover upside down and try it or put a kitchen magnet near the screen to the left of the volume rocker. once it triggers a sleep or wake, the option appears.

I just bought the OtterBox Defender at Best Buy today. I had $75 worth of reward zone certificates and there was an open box copy. I ended up paying $13 for the Defender. Perfect for that price. The only problem I have is the home button is a little difficult to push like other users have found in this and other threads.

A side note, the dictation feature on this thing is awesome. All I had to fix was capitalizing Defender twice.

Just received my Griffin Passport iPad case. This is the "non-Elan" model that doesn't have the credit card slots on the inside and has an elastic band to secure the case closed, instead of a leather strap. Pretty nice quality and happy with the "thinness" of the setup.

Don't mind the fingerprints. :)

I just bought a Skinny 3 from a local shop (I'm in Australia). The magnetic on/off thing worked about twice. I can't get it to work again. I already threw out the box as I left the store but I have the receipt.

Update: if I press in the region of the magnet it will activate the feature. It's obviously a little weak, the opposite of the first model which was so strong it turned it off from behind. Not to worry. I only got this case as it is the closest to my iPad 1 Apple Case, which was awesome.

Could this case fit extra thickness? Basically, I'm wondering if I could fit my iPad and back-cover in this case?

Its made for the iPad 2 but Griffen also advertises it for the new iPad. The case is pretty much made to perfectly fit a naked iPad so it won't work for an iPad with a back case if you want it to close properly in this case.

Does anyone has tried/ordered this new inCase Maki Sleeve?
If yes I would like to know your experience, is it worth or not?

I can't decide which one to get. I want something thin and simple.
Another case from Incipio. What do you think?

I went with the Maki! I should be receiving it on Wednesday. I'm a minimalist. I don't want to add more bulk to the iPad. I had the iPad 1 and iPad 2. On the iPad 2 I had a belkin frost snapcase that worked with my blk leather smartcover. The few things I didn't like about that setup....added too much weight and you could only use the smart cover in landscape mode. With the Maki I'm looking forward to using my new iPad in portrait mode. Also looking forward to using it without the added cases/weight! I hope the Maki is worth it! It's like having a smartcover only with more functionality.

Sorry about the Instagram picture but here is the hand made case I ordered on Ebay for my iPad 3 (ordered with dimensions included) ordered on Sunday and she made it and delivered by today, how good is that?!?! I love it ^_^ !

Do you have a link to the seller, that's awesome.

Moshi Concerti

I'm surprised not to see any mentions about the Moshi Concerti. I know it is not available until the 30th but the grey suede for the two is the best case I have ever seen.

Hopefully the new one looks as good.

Right now I have a cheap Rocket Fish one the functions well but has no magnets.

Will be ordering it the first day!

Me too! Mine is arriving tomorrow as well! I'll make sure to post photos and a full review here once she arrives. I'm pairing her up with an aluminum icarbon backing too.

I bought the Targus Slim Case ($50) and it arrived before my new iPad, but unfortunately it tends to turn the iPad on and off when folded over, so I'm going to return it to Amazon and keep looking.

What color is it? I have it in my cart, but it's unclear.

I got one and just got it in today... FAST shipping from amazon, the code really worked to. With that price this IS the best one.

And to answer your question, it is Black on the outside and gray on the inside; kind of a dark gray. Both materials feel really nice..either it is real leather, or REALY nice imitation. It feels good. and the inside kind of has a... suede-like feel. i don't think it is swede but they do feel really nice. i like it so far.

On Amazon it says that it is "rigid" and "leather wrapped" and is "lined with microfiber".

SO big question...does the sleep/wake work?

SO big question...does the sleep/wake work?

To be honest... I don't know yet.

I was doing forethought research for the iPad 3 I am GOING to get when I found this. I checked it out on amazon, went all the way to check out to test the code thing, and it worked. So I thought, "Get this now at 15 bucks, or wait and possibly have to shell out 30 bucks or more for one that might be crap..." so I decided that getting this now was worth it.

...and now that I can see it and touch it, and see the quality that was made with...I don't car if the auto shut off does work. I can just hit the button on top. I'm fine with that being that I payed 15 bucks when this thing has a $50 list prise.

Sorry I couldn't answer, I truly wish I could. But I don't quite have the money saved yet.

So I'm confused. You don't have the case yet or you don't have the iPad?

i am still going back and forth about which case i want ... i have been looking at the incipio lexington ... joy factory smartsuiet3 ... and canvas by switcheasy. The one real benefit that canvas has over the other two is that it has allot more viewing angles ... its missing the keyboard angle but yet has many other viewing angles that the other two do not have. I like the material of the joy case but i feel it is way over priced for $60, i think there is a 20% coupon floating around... The lexington would be the cheapest at 40 plus 15% off coupon...also missing all the viewing angles ... just has keyboard and one viewing angle ... canvas switcheasy at $40 ... has many angles but no keyboard

canvas
smartsuit3
lexington

being a first time ipad owner ... will that one viewing angle be good enough? i can see myself needing other views to prevent glare in certain situations, which points to the canvas. I would also think the keyboard view would be the most important view and used the most ... but i guess people dont think so since canvas is very popular ... it is also said that u can sorta place the canvas case in a keyboard position .. might be ok in the beginning but after the case breaks in that position with no lock wont be very sturdy...

whats your thoughts guys?

Are there any thin cases that have multiple viewing angles like the canvas but also has the keyboard angle?

i tried the 360 degree targus case but it was too bulky ... that case seemed to have it all though ... landscape, portrait, keyboard and held your stylus
targus 360

i had the slim targus
slim targus, on and off did work with magnet ... but the smallest move of the front cover i would hear the screen clicks as if the screen was turning on and off with the cover closed ... just by moving the cover around on the screen, again this only has two views .. not multiple like the canvas ... but has keyboard and stylus ...

the incipio might prevent screen from turning on and off when cover is closed because it has a buckle .. i am not sure if the canvas does the same thing with screen turning on and off while cover is closed by sliding cover a little when closed on screen ...

The Belkin snap case added too much weight? Odd. I'm considering picking one up this week so I'll have to test that out.
