now it may be in my head but wouldn't the 6 Plus screen size require more battery, obviously when it's in use? do i have a good theory or again, is it in my head?

Yes, the bigger screen with the bigger backlight takes more power. BUT

The bigger screen also allows for a larger battery. Both have the same A8 processor, so a larger % of the remaining capacity is available to power the bigger screen. So the Plus ends up with more runtime, not less.

Same here.

Whats funny women have no problem with the larger screens because they have purses!
If you are a guy where are you going to put it. I have to have a side holster because I wear a suit for work. The 5.5 would never fit.

128gb 6 for me.

Not 100% true that we won't have a problem. Most current purses have a pocket specifically for your phone. I don't think the 5.5 will fit in that pocket. So it is a problem. I can always just throw it in the main area with my wallet (that I won't need to carry anymore... right!?)

First world problem, but still a small consideration.

Anyone else feel this same way? :p

Apple sure made it difficult to choose by coming out with two new sizes (one of which begin unwieldily but has more features).

I'm struggling to decide between the 6 and 6Plus also. I was convinced up until this morning that I was only interested in a 4.7" model. But after seeing the keynote and hands-on videos, I'm not so sure.

I will be pre-ordering an unlocked on Friday morning so I only have about 2 days to decide.... argh. I really wish I could get my hands on them ahead of time. I just might stop by a mobile shop and hold the S5 to get a feel for size.

On the one hand I feel like the 6+ is the premium phone, you can't deny the bigger battery and more features. I don't want to regret the purchase a week after buying the 6 and wish I had the 6+.... ah well, lump me in with the rest of you.

How so LOTR? Did you expect the 6+ to be $199 on contract as well? Or the 4.7 inch to be less?

I din't expect the 6 plus to come in at 16GB base, rather 32GB. Was expecting to come in at $750, not $850  16GB just doesn't cut it.

I was also expecting maybe a $50 premium between the two models. Not a full $100. Basically I will be spending at least $150 more than I wanted to. Might as well make it $250 and just store everythig under the sun on my iPadphone. Birthday was in August and my wife never got me anything so I can play that card. :D

Anyway, I am eager to see a teardown of these two phones with a cost to build analysis. They are basically the same phone, so I don't know that TOO much R&D went on between the two devices. My guess is the 6 Plus is a good bit more profitable. The premium price likely doesn't reflect production costs too much.

Yep, I feel the same way :(

Apple could have made this decision SO much easier if they just treated the 6+ like Samsung treats it's Galaxy Note line (as a premium device with 32gb standard). 16gb makes things so much harder!

every one have a different choice some likes bigger screen and also like to carry it in bigger case, some like smaller screen but according to me iPhone 6 plus have much bigger screen that not means that iPhone 6 have a smaller screen, i would like to go with iPhone 6 because it has not a bigger screen and not very smaller screen its have a perfect screen resolution.

Personally I expected $200 more. Apple could have easily done it.

Dunno about that one. Easily?

I am genuinely curious to see numbers, not only initially, but over the whole year. I am suspecting that the price will scare away some folks from the 5.5". Of course there are other potential factors which may be hard to measure.

If Apple could have done it, they would have.

Not that it's not possible for a company to just say "**** it!" and raise prices... just that I'm sure Apple always crunches the numbers and determines what it can set it's prices at.

If they didn't raise the prices, that just means the data didn't support any raise.

First World Problems

First World Problems!

Anyway I already got the Note 3 and the 5S, i will probably go with the iPhone 6, space grey!

Honestly, they have always given "the next step up" a $100 price hike. By always, I mean since the iPhone, at least. Most buyers will see the 6 plus as the "next step up", everything else being equal.

As much as I like to think that most people NEED more than 16GB of storage, I would suspect that Apple has a good bit of statistics compiled of how much space people are actually using on their phones. I am speaking against myself here, but that's ok.

No doubt they did far more research on this topic. But there is room for an ultra premium iphone. Holding a monopoly on iOS devices gives them a lot of power.

What about those that want the 5.5 but do a lot of jogging and cycling? What are you thinking of getting and how will you exercise with such a big phone on you?

But to track distance and mapping you need a device with a GPS. The iWatch won't solve this.

My only concern with the iPhone 6+ is exercising with it. I had a note 2/3 for a bit and running was definitely awkward. I've since downgraded to a Moto X and while I love the size of it, I'm still torn. :(

How did you carry the Note when running? Did you use an armband, waist strap or just in your pocket?

The 6 plus 64gb for me. I never use my PC or my laptop and the iPhone is my main device so a 5.5 inch screen will finally make it feel like a I have a computer rather than a phone.

We all know whats going to happen. Many with get the 6, and when they see the 6 Plus in action, they will regret getting the 6. Start out big, if you don't like it, you have 14 days to return.

A lot of people making fun at how big iPhone 6+ but I get this feeling that iPhone 6+ will end up being a hot seller compared to its little brother.
