Sony just killed PSVR:

Looks like no real support for PSVR in PS5. :(

(you need to run the PSVR game in PS4 Backward Compat mode on a PS5). (have the PS4 version of the game in your console...)

Well this answers my major question regarding PSVR on PS5.

Looks like getting an XBox Series X will be my priority for while..

Here is my problem Sony can make Millions of Xperia devices which folks are not going to buy but cannot make enough PS5 Stock? Makes no sense and I hope their stock price tanks over this. I'm going switch back to Xbox hate Sony they can never do anything right except sell a Mobile no one wants that ends up with such pathetic anemic sales.

I would be surprised if there are Series X sales than PS5.

Looks like I dragged my feet too long for getting into PSVR.

We are in a similar situation now where unless you have a cutting edge TV with high frame rates and 4k (I don't...) and know what to look for you'd have trouble telling the difference between Spiderman on PS4 vs PS5.
Correct. The two biggest visual upgrades for this gen are HDR and 120hz.

LG CX owners are the ones enjoying the ultimate next gen experience.

Everyone else with a 50-60hz TV are missing out on 120hz which is IMO more visually impressive than native 4k vs 4k Dynamic Resolution scaling on previous gen consoles.

I’m looking to upgrade my 720p Vizio to a Samsung TU7000. It’s a 4K, but with only 60hz. So to me it will be a total upgrade no matter what. It’s on sale at target for $260.
Then in a year or two I’ll look into buying a 120 hz tv (hopefully 8k) for that same price

Bargain. HDR and 4k will be a big upgrade. The LG CX add superb but expensive. Hopefully next year there will be a plethora of competing and cheaper 120hz TVs.

What TV are you currently using?
49' 2015 non-HDR LG TV.
27' 2020 1440p 120hz HDR400 Dell gaming monitor.

Playing My Series X on the TV having upgraded from a PS4 Pro, the graphics improvements on COD games isn't big.

However Gears 5 looks absolute graphically stunning and fluid on my gaming monitor. It's a big jump from 30fps gaming.

One thing to point out is that I am missing out on HDR as HDR400 on my monitor isn't Bright enough for full fat HDR.

For TVs, HDR performance can greatly vary between TVs. This is a big watchout as good HDR can make both games and movies look breathtaking.

My next TV will likely be a 65 OLED when prices have come down next year.

I think I got a Disc version coming 'by November 26'

Got one (and order at least) by some small miracle at the 9 PM EST wave on 11.12

Also just ordered Demon Souls, Sackboy, and Miles Morales Ultimate Edition

The hype hit me really hard all of a sudden

hopefully it all pans out :p

Likely going to sell my PS4 Pro too to pay for half of the system

Does the ps5 support media playback to function like an entertainment center? Like mp3, mp4 locally on a usb drive?

Cheers
I don't think it has a video player. I plugged in a drive with some movies on it and it didn't pop up with any notice.

FAT32 is super limiting for high quality movie playback but for music it's fine. I'll do some testing with an external drive for games. Hopefully you can just use for PS4 game storage and music, I don't think that was possible before.

The ability to remap buttons in system settings is really nice but I wish we could limit it to only certain games. I don't want those settings in use when I'm not in the game.

I ordered the free adaptor to make my PSVR work with the PS5. Sony did say they plan to do PSVR for the PS5, but will be a couple of years as they still support it and think it has a huge future but right now they feel its not there yet for the PS5.

Good thing is PSVR games will still come out for the PS, just wont be for the PS5 but Blood & Truth (A sony game) already received a PS5 enhancement for visuals about a week or two ago.

One thing I do not like, is with the PS5 (And the updated PS App) we no longer have an activity feed that allows us to see what trophies are friends are earning, what games they are playing, etc. Not sure why they removed that from the UI on the PS5 and the app.

Actually and the new Vizio OLED. I just bought a 65 Inch Vizio OLED to replace my 55Inch LED TV in the game room, and the Vizio OLED is 120hz, HDR10, HDMI 2.1 Ports, etc. Amazing TV. We have 2 LG OLEDs also for our Livingroom and bedroom and due to LG makes the OLED panel for the Vizio (and Sony) its a great TV for less money. The games look stunning on the OLED

I been enjoying my PS5 (disc version). Target didn't ship to Fedex until last Friday, so it didn't get to my house until Sunday afternoon. I heard about the issues some are having, but I have encountered none. Been playing Spider Man" Miles Morales, Call of Duty Cold War, and Astro's Playroom (which pretty great to be a free pre installed game). There is a new system update that was released that hopefully fixes some issues people were having. Really love the controller and the hype about it has been justified in my book. My only slight nitpick is the console is pretty huge and has some weight to it. Definitely hope a slim model comes out in the next couple of years. But again, really impressed by this console and happy with my purchase!

Some people are saying it's caused by putting the system in rest mode while playing Miles Morales.

The article actually says it’s Spider-Man Remastered that’s causing the issue rather than Miles Morales.
