It doesn't work the best for glasses, but some people buy "spacers" to keep the lenses from scratching against the screen. And VR would most likely introduce more motion sickness than 3D movies unfortunately.
 
Has anyone had issues with games being unplayable due to crashes? The PS5 version of the new call of duty crashes at the title screen every time I launch it (PS4 version of the game works fine). I deleted and downloaded/reinstalled the entire game and put the PS5 in rest mode and ran “Rebuild Databse“ which was recommended by Sony. Still crashes immediately. Someone on the PS5 subreddit mentioned the same was happening to them with a different game. Anyone here experience anything similar?

Just spitballing here but maybe there's a cache that needs clearing...though I expect that would happen when you rebuild the database.

Any chance it could be a corrupt save game file?
 
yay I sold my launch ps4 pro

paid for about half of this ps5 I'll take it!

kept my 2nd dual shock4 controller as well, for 2 player PS4 games / compatibility backup / emu controller

my ps5 experience has been very good so far

beat Miles Morales, love Astro's Playroom for a pack in, got Bugsnax queued up, and working on Spiderman Remastered - already further than I was when I picked it up on PS4 in 2018 haha

Loving it! Raytrace is really impressive for a game like Spiderman as well

and Dual Sense is soooo comfy!

my cloud saves loaded without issue for all my ps4 games, and I just hooked up my external and good to go.

Something small I liked when setting up the PS5: one of the first dings he asks is to put in a disk of a game you want to play so it can install during the setup and to pick a download from the PSN Store. So when you've completed the whole setup, you'll have something to play and don't start the experience with waiting for an install to happen.

I loved being able to scan that QR code in the app to add my account.

I don’t like the new controllers
It feels like it’s going to be buggy or break easily compared to the ps4 controller.

I also don’t like that you can’t use the the ps4 controller for player 2. Like if I want to play a fighting game why do I need the stupid pressure sensing controller feature?

PS4 games can use the PS4 controller as well as the PS5 controller.

I love them period

the look is classy. The bigger size is appreciated

it’s like they took pointers from Xbox controller while remaining PlayStation

the back hump is gone too. And the textured back feels great

I even like the more mellow dpad and flusher buttons
 
Agreed these are the best controllers Sony has made. Finally on par with Xbox in terms of build/feel, and way better in terms of functionality.

I can't tell if people who make this recommendation are aware of the PSVR game Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, but it's pretty fully fledged! :)

Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for my free VR adapter. I could never get the website to work, so I was supposedly successful in ordering it through customer service via phone. I'm a bit skeptical it's actually on the way though.

5-10 hours is hardly fully fledged IMO. It's marginally better than the Astro's playroom demo.

Oh I had no idea that the adapter was free. I haven't used my PSVR in awhile but it'd be nice to get one just in case. Glad I saw this comment :)

Do you have to keep both versions of FIFA or Madden on the ps5 with the free upgrade? I don’t think I’ll ever play the ps4 version. Downloading the ps5 version. Says keep the disk.anyone that has done one of the free EA upgrades know if you need to keep both for it to work?

Mine just showed up out of the blue in my mailbox. Never got any tracking/shipping notifications. Camera just works like it did with the PS4.
