I am on the fence whether or not to get the disc or digital version. On one hand, the digital looks cooler IMO. It's truly space age. Very slick, beautiful, like a work of art.

At the same time, I would probably sell games I'm done with, and I'm assuming this can be done with the disc version.
If you have PS4 games that the publisher comes out with a PS5 version, you will not get the PS5 version free on many games unless you have the PS4 disc, so keep that in mind when deciding. For $100 more, Get the disc version. I am glad I went that route as I read these new requirements from some game publishers to get free PS5 updates. No Mans Sly is a perfect example of that, and you can only play the PS5 upgrade version if the PS4 disc is in the drive.

Follow wario64 on Twitter. He tells you when the system drops are coming.

I bought Spider-Man miles for $30 (used) and Assassians creed new for $40.

Price saved by not buying digital is already $40. After 2 games. I beat Spider-Man. And will probably sell it for $30. Something I can’t do with digital games

on ps4 I would also buy used games for 35-45 on Craigslist or Facebook. Then sell it for the same price or $5 less. Digital is not a good way to go unless you live insanely far from people/store to trade in. Or you have multiple consoles and kids. My nephews use my digital games on the Nintendo switch. Without me having to give them the disk.
Thank you! I am following him. He's got many great deals. Still have not seen a PS5 drop yet, but I am watching closely. Wish me luck, and hopefully I will join the PS5 family soon! :)

How are the PSVR games on PS5?
They run really smooth, some already had PS5-patches to increase the framerate and overall quality (blood and truth for example)
You probably would use up all your HD space if you download the same game 3 times

final fantasy 15 takes 100gb!!!! It’s insane I kind of want to try the game but defiantly don’t want to delete it and then download it again
There's an option to automatically install PS4 games on an external drive. If you don't have one, I suggest you invest in one. Any USB3 drive will do (no need to buy one branded "for PS4" or something like that)

I'm not sure how many of you take LTTs take on technology, and reviews but here's the PS5 from LTT.

I think he raises some fair points about how MS has a much more robust subscription service and not including all of playstation's game in Sony's PSNow sub is only hurting them.

In all honesty, I don't know which console is better hardware wise, I much prefer Sony's but I do have the xbox sub to play some games on my PC so there's that quandary. Tbh, with the rarity of the consoles before Christmas its not a decision I have to make right now.

Only country that likes or uses the Xbox is the US. Maybe with MS buying the Fallout developers things can change but when I stopped liking Halo I stopped liking the Xbox.

Xbox also has the issue that it wants to be a cheap computer. So you can buy our 200 model, 300, 500 or just build your own pc and play our game making our system kind of pointless. The Xbox is quickly becoming A expensive Apple Arcade.

Play anywhere! Which is cool and feel Apple Arcade competes well with my Nintendo switch but even a “master piece” like Breathe of the wild is complete and utter garbage next to Ghost of Tsunami or Horizon. I want the story to be movie or hbo quality and the animation to bring me into that world. Microsoft going hey your 7 year old system can play our brand new game has issues like the new Halo looking like a Xbox 360 game.also not hating on the Xbox as I have had all their systems and honestly kept selling the ps4 to get the Xbox and then switching back to the ps4. I just don’t like the model they are doing. I am not the type of person who pays 500 for a new system to want to play a game from 2001.

The best deal for a new Xbox is the game pass system service. You pay for game pass ultimate and for an extra 10 to 20 bucks they throw in the system as well.

I just bought my first external drive for Playstation use and I'm kicking myself for not doing this earlier. So easy and convenient, especially considering that the internal drive I installed in my PS4 started failing.

I bought the Playstation External drive early last year which having for the PS5 is awesome. Considering memory space is small, I have all my PS4 games on the external drive, and save the precious PS5 memory for the PS5 games. Cyberpunk will go to my external since its a PS4 game and well over 100gb.

I have the PS4-game that I play actively on my SSD, since it's so much faster to load stuff. The rest (backlog, archive and games I casually play) are on the external drive.

That's my plan also. I actually have my drive disconnected right now. I figure why have it running when I have no use for it.

God of war the audio cuts out. It’s either Kratos doesn’t talk or someone else doesn’t

super annoying been playing with my tv setting t to fix it nothing works

looks insane on ps5

Does plugging headphones into the controller fix the issue?

Follow the link if your having Audio issues. I first noticed it on Mile Morales but changed my audio in that game and it fixed it. For God of War I couldn't hear Kratos talk and if I wasn't facing the character talking to me I couldn't hear them either. Then in Cyberpunk I couldn't hear V talk. Made it super annoying. Glad the link below showed me how to fix it. Under sound you have 3 options. I had to switch to dolby on Audio PS5 setting and no longer an issue.

Honestly, I had no idea where to put this new M.E. teaser trailer (Its awesome BTW), but I’m assuming it’s being demoed on the new consoles, so I thought this would be appropriate to put it here. But seems the Mass Effect team is trying to make a come back for a reboot for the Normandy N7:

Today I managed to secure a Series X to go along with my PS5, although no good games will be out for the Series X till Summer (Like Forza and Flight Simulator) I will at least have it. I never play my One X now that I have the PS5 but it will look good sitting with the PS5 lol

I'd like to be able to plug the PS5 controller into a wall-outlet next to my couch (using the provided charging cable for the controller), so as not to wear out the battery and have to plug it into the console.

Has anyone tried it? And which wall-charger do you use?

Cheers

I use my iPad charger. I don’t think the Dual Sense is an actual USB 3 device.

I've been out of gaming for a while - my last Playstation was the PS2. I have a Nintendo Switch and primarily buy my games through their E-store. Looking to get a PS5 and now trying to figure out whether to get the disc or disc-less version. I'm interested in playing some games that were released for PS4 (such as The Witcher 2... yeah, gaming backlog). If those types of games are located on the electronic storefront, and if the PS5 can play those as well, then disc-less seems to make sense. But when I looked on the website I couldn't find The Witcher 2, which makes me think that I may be better off getting the disc version and hunting down some of these games.

Just wondering if I have it right, since I've never used the Sony electronic store for purchasing games before, and I'm not totally clear on how the compatibility works with electronic versions of games.

You may want to get a Xbox. As far as I can find Witcher 2 wasn’t on PlayStation.

Thanks for that reply - for some reason I thought it was but you're absolutely right, and that would probably explain why it's not listed! Meanwhile, it seems that others like Gravity Rush are listed, with remarks made about being playable on PS5.

I guess I'll need to revise my question - for someone comfortable with having their library be all digital and passing on buying used games, is there any benefit to having the disc bay?

Only if you want to use it as a bluray movie player or see any scenario where you might want to play a game from a disc (birthday gift, borrowed from a friend, old PS4 games, rental, special offer at your favorite store, ...).
