I'm disappointed. Wonder if it really is Schumy.

Nah it's deffo still Ben Collins with the odd replacement for specialist stunts/cars like the F1 car or the skimobile jump.

I reckon they had the idea of having a joke unveiling and thought 'Who's the most outrageous person we could claim as The Stig.'

Fair play to him as well, very funny segment.

Very funny ep, I heard from someones Facebook status thingy that they were to reveal who the Stig once and since I don't read up on these things I actually thought it was MSC . Silly me.

Btw did anyone catch James May on the Moon afterwards? It was just brilliant. Even watched the making of on BBC4.

Brilliant episode, and brilliant start to a new series. I love the Stig-thing by the way. Hilarious and absolutely entertaining.

Oh, and I will have that Lotus.

I will have that Lotus...

I don't think I believe it was really teh Schu, but it was thoroughly entertaining to see him un-masked as the Stig anyway. Great TV!

And holy crap, that Ferrari, 7 seconds quicker than anything else. Unbelievable.

what a surprise right? no one expected that it was MSC. i actually thought it was button looool

1) Schumacher is not the stig. He was for that week only to allow them to punt that ugly, non-road legal Ferrari round the track

2) The "surprise" was known around the Internet since filming during the week.

They seem to have forgotten the lap board is for road legal cars.

Usually it's Ben Collins. Occasionally someone else. When it was the Renault F1 car, it was Kova, for example.

The Stig is a concept, a state of mind, a being. It's not really a person, per se, it's a way of having someone good enough that infact, the person is taken out of the equation and we get to see what the car can do.

That car though - watching it I thought "Wow - this could be a 1:15 or something. 1:10 is just unreal. For once, I don't care that it's not road legal (and I emailed TG weekly after the Radical SR3 magically vanished from their board with it's 1:15 or so a few years ago....as it's 'road legal' - but can't handle speed bumps)

MS came out of that rather well I thought. A bastard on the track, but not so bad off it. I actually guessed it from the size, build, and walk.

GREAT first episode of the new series....did you see the mess JC made of the wall in the hotel bar!

The second Stig was Ben Collins but the Telegraph found out about it so its now someone else. Someone who's an even better driver.

When it isn't falling apart, falling off the track, or burning people .

Well to be fair... that was a pre-production prototype. ;)

But... it's completely road legal, can clear a speed bump... and is still quicker than an FXX with Schumi at the helm  Schumi should've bought an FXX Evoluzione to do the job. :D

This series potentially looks quite good though.
