Hi, I thought I'd jump in here. The 'other' car show probably reviews more cars and more in depth, but the reason I don't tune in regularly is there is no personality there. I watch TG because of the bantera and bad (yes BAD) scripts; I groan at the bad jokes, I can see the jokes being setup before the punch line and I can almost predict the style of the car reviews.

I make no pretence in say I watch it because it's 3 lads having a great time doing a job they enjoy.

BTW, does anyone know how long the queue is to get into the TG audience?

Hmmm, this weeks one was disappointing.

Hardly anything exciting happened in the Japan race, JC hardly talked about the Nissan GTR he was zooming about in (which I think is one of the best conceived sports cars in years), the camera shots werent spectacular (why didn't they shoot more of the car?) RH and JM didnt fool around that much, nor did they get into any scrapes. It felt a bit barrel-scrapey.

Although top marks for the beaver joke.

I like the used-car challenges, so I enjoyed that episode with the old Alfas.

No fair on the track test of the 8C though - it was a lake out there!

I have to say I agree that the Alfa 8C Competizione is certainly one of the most beautiful cars to appear in my lifetime, and perhaps ranks among the great shapes of all time: E-Type, Miura, Dino, 300SL Gullwing, Aurelia, DB-7, 250GTO, Type 57, etc.

I love Alfas...I can't wait to see Alfa return to the States in 2009...I sincerely hope that the crap economy doesn't screw their re-entry into the American market.

The bullet train race was so-so, but I was bummed they didn't take the GT-R out on the test track...I expect it to put up a seriously fast time.

I thought this weeks Toppy G was tip top. The car vs public transport challenge was darn close and in fairness the car didn't have a chance against the so called jam-packed tokyo traffic! The dedication to precision on the japanese part was very impressive both in the train timings and gt-r tech. As for the Alpha AC3, I really look forward to some workshop techies like noble or lotus to start afresh with the poor performance and drive-ability and create something as magical under the bonnet as it is to look at.

yee-hah.

p.s: I found today that 'The Crow' OST was a great driving cd!

Agreed! 1 minute behind and its classed as late  And the letter for your boss was a great idea!

I was stuck on a train yesterday for 45mins its taken as the norm here

I hope they review/test the Maserati GranTurismo. I saw one for the first time in St Tropez and initially thought it was a Quatroporté, until it got closer and then I couldn't take my eyes off it. I didn't know what it was and spent the rest of the holiday trying find out. Its probably the best looking car on the road in my eyes. Pics don't do it justice, in real life this thing is amazing!

I liked this weeks challenge. A 15 000 pound service bill for a 25 000 pound car.

It's unlikely to just be a service bill, more a restoration one. :p

A couple of years back I went to look at a black '72 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 4.5 (W108), unbelievably classy looking car... but the bill to fix it was double the cost of the car itself, but regular service costs after that were cheaper than a modern Merc because of it's relative simplicity.

Sabine's on a week Sunday. :D

cracking show to end the series.

and we beat the Germans again. Man can Captain Slow drive :D

But they cheated for Jay Kay, they set a rule for the new Star in a reasonably priced car where it was their last lap that counted.

Oh Sabine can't she be on the next series

I actually think JK is more annoying than Simon Cowell now.

Shame it is the last for a while.
