Does anyone know what Apple's purchase policy is like for iPhones? I want to buy 2, one for me and one for my other half, is that normally allowed?

The £140 would be to end your contract early. They let you do that as long as you sign the next 18/24 month contract. Drawback is your in the same or worse position this time next year.

Worth it, iPhone 5 will be evolution not revolution, this is like a complete new phone whereas 3G and 3GS were slightly faster clones of original iPhone with extra memory

Good Morning UK,,,,Following your excitement here from Downunder,
Gee feel sorry for you guys, like myself just bought iPad 2 weeks ago and know it time to get iPhone 4,Glad we getting it next month...So you guys dont even know price yet and about to Preorder,Thats a bit rough..
You wont have Unlocked over there will you...Australia and Japan are about the only countries to have this option. But think you have Pay and Go,,,
GOOD LUCK TO ALL..🙂

Do what I'm doing. Buy it on Pay and Go and put your contract sim in to it. No get out clause because you are still paying your contract. This is actually an option O2 have said publicly on the iPhone 4 site (OPTION 2 HERE)

Great stuff. And just to clarify, I could buy the new PAYG phone directly from Apple, wouldn't need to be from o2?

right off 2 work, will watch the apple site there lmao.

hopefully this time 2nite we will be sat here waiting on the 24th to arive lol

If I was to pre-order the iPhone 4 for in-store pickup would have have to pay on the web or when I actually pick it up? Thanks.

My understanding is in store. But I asked Apple this yesterday and I got the typical we don't know this yet but we will tomorrow.

Well Apple tomorrow is now TODAY!

I have a feeling that the pre-orders are going to be more of a reserve system... since they don't actually take the money... I think it might be set up so you basically tell them now that you are ordering the iphone now for the 24th, and then a few days before shipping, you tell them what carrier and the tariff (since only O2 has officially released tariff's and none have released prices for the handset...) stupid providers 🙁

G'day! And thank you! 🙂

does that include SIMplicity? it's still classed as a "contract" right? just 30 days rolling

Go for an iPhone Simplicity contract. Very good value, and a choice between 30 days and 12 months contracts.

Edit: If you're asking whether this will get you out of an early termination penalty, the answer is no. However, just use your contract sim in the new iPhone until the contract comes to an end.

I don't think a simplicity contract will get you the £20 a month pay of early thing. They want to tie you up for at least 18 month for that.

i'm not on about that... i mean, buying the iphone 4 on payg, then using my current simplicity sim from my 3gs...

surely i can do that, according to option 2 on this o2 page, as i'm not "upgrading... just switching phones wanting to keep on my current simplicity tariff (which is better than the new simplicity tariffs)

Yes you should be able to do that provided the iPhone 4 is on the same network or unlocked and you get a replacement micro sim or chop it yourself. It looks like with that option they will change your sim for you.
