lol @ Apple!

Just called the telephone sales number to place my preorder only to be told they will have to call me back when their website comes back online.

I told them not to bother. I have interwebz too.

Got my order confirmation for in-store pick up here in Cardiff St. Davids 2. Anyone else hitting up the Cardiff store?

I honestly think this in-store pickup lark is the best way to pre-order. The network are faffing about, but now we just get to kick back and have them come to us when they're ready (IF they do). We just get to decide on the day what plan we want to go with. Weight on shoulders=gone.

This may be a bit cheeky, but is there any chance you could upload the confirmation email you got, as I just called Apple and they could find no record of my Pre-Order, but I can't get back into the Store to do anything about it.

apple introduce VAT increases the same day but (when VAT went from 15% back to 17.5%)

but curiously they never dropped the price when the VAT went from 17.5% to 15% because of 'currency differences'

so I would 100% fully expect the price to go up if there is a VAT increase

Hey,

I tried to order earlier and got to the last page and it crashed. I have just reserved one and got the email - does this mean that I will have one ready for me on the 24 June?

Thanks

do you understand the concept of a subsidy?

Every year we get this. It's retarded by now.
I used to work for Orange, so I've spent so much time trying to explain it to people. My Dad explained it to me 15 years ago when I was 11, and it's fair to say the concept is still the same today.

Does my little noggin in.

lol why are people so panicky, at the end of the day it is ONLY A PHONE LOL that'll be out dated a few months down the line. Plus if it does sell out I am pretty sure that Apple will have more stock in asap, its not like your never gonna get one.
chill people

If i manage to reserve one then i will be picking up from there. Still not sure whether to upgrade or buy sim free and cut my monthly bill down...

1st order took 70 mins for the confirmation to come through

Nope not yet, should arrive soon hopefully. The money has been taken from my account.

Just checked my card and it still doesn't look like they took the money, just yet. Will just have to sit it out for now.

Stores down as well so can't check Order Status, although last I checked all was well.

Sold out already ??? the site has been open 2hrs 22 mins and been down about 1hr 50 of that, did they have 500 phones on pre order or something ? no way could they have sold a million odd phones in 2 hrs with all the chaos and downtime on their site

Agreed!

You're asking someone who's just started swearing on the internet if they're got all the facts? 😛

Also, I wonder what's taking the networks so long to announce their prices. Do you reckon they're colluding on the prices? (Although if Vodafone now announce their data limit to be less than 1GB, we know the answer)
