PPS you'll see the O2 Simplicity tariffs haved changed, You'll need a Smart Phone Tariff if you want Data, £20pm 300mins

What do you mean by "O2 Simplicity tariffs haved changed"? I just looked at the iPhone simplicity tariffs and they include unlimited data and wifi.

It won't because I can't access my @mac.com address anymore and the store won't allow me to change it 🙁 Put it this way, is the email confirmation needed on the day for pick up?

Ahh right ok... well the email says....

I'm switching from O2 to Vodafone, but according to that I'll need a recent utility bill. Since my O2 contract is the only real utility I'm billed for, and given it's been online billing since I got it, what should I do for this? Can I get O2 to send me a paper copy?

For people asking what to take to pick up a reservation (the much-posted link that will come in your confirmation email is: http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/iphone/). Even though I'm only picking up a PAYG, I still intend to pop my passport and a recent utility bill and bank statement into my pocket anyway, just in case. It takes minutes to dig them out the night before so it seems silly not to do it just for comfort, and if for some reason I suddenly change my mind in-store and decide I want to go for a contract.

I know they aren't massively popular, but the speed on my iPad has made me decide on Three - any news on tariffs etc for them?

When you reserve your iPhone, they ask for your Apple ID, so they know your name, email etc. That's what I'm guessing they will be using to tie you to your reservation - your name. You just say "Hi, I'm Steve and I'd like to collect my reserved iPhone" and they say "Sure Steve, right this way"!

I don't think you need the email, it doesn't contain a reservation number or anything, so it's just for piece of mind.

lol why are people so panicky, at the end of the day it is ONLY A PHONE LOL that'll be out dated a few months down the line. Plus if it does sell out I am pretty sure that Apple will have more stock in asap, its not like your never gonna get one.
chill people

Because since my iPhone 3G packed up a couple of weeks ago, I've been stuck with a BlackBerry, and it's terrible. I honestly want to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

I'm sure they'll accept a print out.

There is a program called 2lines that can turn your Ipad into a phone ... try going to 2lines.com and see ... it works on the iphone but I was amazed when it offer the concept that it can make an Ipad work in WiFi and via VOIP you can use it as a phone if you need to ... wasn't that a big bitch for people when it came out --- well you can see if 2lines fixes your wagon on the Ipad as well as on the iphone ... wish it was free but customer support here in SF cost some extra ... possibly you find it is an answer to your needs, I find it intriquing that it can turn an Ipad into a phone ... period, end of sentence.

It's just handy when they say, "who, never heard of you" 😉

I'm curious to see their prices too, but apparently they've been delayed and wont be up today. They are still finalising them according to a post on their blog.

This may be a bit cheeky, but is there any chance you could upload the confirmation email you got, as I just called Apple and they could find no record of my Pre-Order, but I can't get back into the Store to do anything about it.

Wow, there's a rather decent Cardiff presence on here. All from Cardiff or surrounding areas? I'm from the town of Gavin and Stacey myself.

Here is a screenshot of the email. Very basic with not much info in it. You won't be able to print this off and use it though, just re-apply for instore pickup when the site comes back up.

Sorry to hear that people are struggling to pre-order , especially if they got up early or pulled an all nighter. I was lucky enough to get mine ordered earlier. Strangely, my confirmation states -
- Order Date: Jun 15, 2010 at 08:57 AM GMT -

8:57 AM !!!!

Bloody hell, was I the first order???

Or, since it's your Apple ID, shouldn't that be "Hi, I'm Steve610389"?

Will Apple Stores put the reserved iphone's to one side? If you read the bottom of the email it states that reserving doesn't mean you will get one - on a first come first serve basis 😕
