When you reserve your iPhone, they ask for your Apple ID, so they know your name, email etc. That's what I'm guessing they will be using to tie you to your reservation - your name. You just say "Hi, I'm Steve and I'd like to collect my reserved iPhone" and they say "Sure Steve, right this way"!

I don't think you need the email, it doesn't contain a reservation number or anything, so it's just for piece of mind.

although they do have your card details with your Apple ID.

Sorry to hear that people are struggling to pre-order , especially if they got up early or pulled an all nighter. I was lucky enough to get mine ordered earlier. Strangely, my confirmation states -

Didn't notice that. I was always told if Apple reserved it then its there for you. 300 mile round trip the begger better be there!

I phoned my store at 10am to say I'd got a confirmation email for store pickup on Friday and they said there will deffinetly be one in store then with my Name on it, but if you don't collect on the day it is free to sell instore the following day.

Can choose between SIM free, PAYG or contract when I get there.

They will put them aside for the launch day. If you don't pick it up on the 24th, then they will sell it to someone else on the 25th.

Mine is 8:33 am. which is in fact 9:33 am.. i guess it's time difference or something like that

The same happened when I ordered the iPad there was an hour difference.

Can anyone get onto the Store online right now? All I get is the post it, and if the main page loads the iPhone page doesn't, and when it does and I place an order, it goes all the way to the very last step then crashes again. I've seen the delivery address page once since 9am, and I've been on it all morning...

I think they add that to cover their back in case they end up selling it by mistake.

i have managed to order an iphone 4 with dock.

However due to the dock not being available until july 2nd this will put my entire shipping date back.

Is anyone else having a similar experience?

Note the reserve in store PAYG option states O2 or Orange only.

well I start work at 4 so i'll be trying to order a new one through my iPhone whilst working, hopefully there isn't as much demand this evening on vodafone's site as the was/is on apple's.

does anyone know if vodafone have a mobile online shop that would be easier to access?
